I was thinking about coming up from Georgia to go to the Philly rally. I wanted to get a bunch of friends to come up with me, so to make it more appealing to get them to come, I was looking for shows that are going on that weekend in the area. John Butler is playing the night before, so I think that will be what we go see...

anyways, what I saw was that Arlo Guthrie with be playing the same night as the rally, just a few minutes north of Philly.... Is the campaign aware of this? That would be awesome to get in touch with him, and let him know what's up. I'm sure he would stop by, if he really is a big supporter.

some other bands that will be in town that weekend are:
The Sobriquets, Jimmie Eat World, Viva Voce, Annie Lennox, RX Bandits, Dr. Dog,

Three Dog Night, Dashboard Confessional and Travis Tritt will also be pretty close...

maybe we can get in touch with them and see if they can make it by the rally... that would really help with some free press...

We should at least talk to Arlo Guthrie, Jimmie Eat World and RX Bandits

we could also try to get in touch with bands that will be playing in the week or so preceeding the rally, and maybe they can say something about it... that could help out a lot.

Isn't Sammy Haggar a libertarian type with his song "I can't drive 55"

He would be good.

Sammy is more or less a libertarian- Republican. He goes all over the place though. I'm a Hagar fan and wouldn't choose "I Can't Drive 55" because it doesn't say much. From his Van Halen days Dreams, Top of the World, Right Now all fit. Post VH maybe 'Little White Lies", Marching to Mars or The Revival. Maybe you can even make the pre-VH "Heavy Metal" into a gold standard thing.

He just sold 80% of Cabo Wabo Tequila for 85 Million dollars to Skyy Vodka so he has a few buck to donate.
