Gender is a grammatical property.
You probably mean to ask what sex we are.


It was originally titled "sex", but then I'd have to title this thread as "Demographics -- Sex" and God only knows how many bad jokes would come of it.

No because genetically there's only male or female. And that can't be changed.

There are also hermaphrodites. It happens when a person gets 3 sex chromosomes instead of 2 and the configuration is XXY. Shemale's they are often called. It is often rectified in the USA shortly after birth by removing the penis to make the child in all appearances a female. In many other countries, particularly in Thailand, Hermaphrodites are often sold into sex slavery.

Other three way combinations XXX results in a physically normal female, and XYY which results in a physically normal male.
