The Cascade Township Republican, now seeking the 3rd District Congressional seat, has been the only "no" vote on 59 bills in his first term in the 110-member Michigan House, more than any other state lawmaker.

A quote from an opponent:

"He is, from my perspective, very much the libertarian in his voting record," said Republican Steve Heacock. "You have the luxury of doing that as long as the majority does what is right."

A quote from another opponent who admits he doesn't read the bills:

Reading every bill that crosses his desk would distract him from other duties, Hardiman said.

Jack McHugh, senior legislative analyst for MichiganVotes.org, said Amash's record of going it alone on bills is unusual.

"He has applied a very strict standard of limited government to every piece of legislation," said McHugh, whose website is owned by the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, a Midland-based conservative think tank.

I can't believe what the other candidates admit to in this article, it's not a bad piece on Amash, definitely shows he is in the lead and running ahead, when their writing on him like this.
