Rove-linked group uses secret donors to fund attacks

A new political operation conceived by Republican operatives Karl Rove (http://topics.politico.com/index.cfm/topic/KarlRove) and Ed Gillespie (http://topics.politico.com/index.cfm/topic/EdGillespie) formed a spinoff group last month that - thanks in part to its ability to promise donors anonymity - has brought in more money in its first month than the parent organization has raised since it started in March.

The new group, called American Crossroads GPS, has been telling donors their contributions would be used to dig up dirt on Congressional Democrats’ “expense account abuses” and to frame the BP oil spill as “Obama’s Katrina.”




The GPS group pulled in $5.1 million in June (http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0610/39264.html), its first month in operation, while the original American Crossroads (http://topics.politico.com/index.cfm/topic/AmericanCrossroads), which has spent $600,000 on tough ads blistering Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, has pulled in $4.7 million since its launch.

Just proof positive how much more lucrative it is to sheer the sheep than it is to herd the cats.;)

I find it so discouraging that there are no groups or organizations within the freedom movement that can pull in that kind of money.

by principle, alvin greene in S.C is being more political campaign ethical than is A.G jack conway and his big canadian lawyer satchel of pure boodle...

if only we can have a rEVOLUTIOn person win a november senate general election on a frugal and well honed budget like that of young mr. greene of S.C !!!
