Biden: Tea Party isn’t racist
By Holly Bailey

In an interview with ABC’s This Week, Vice President Joe Biden says neither he nor President Obama believes the Tea Party is a "racist organization," but he acknowledged some elements of the movement have "expressed racist views."

"I wouldn’t characterize the Tea Party as racist," Biden said.

"There individuals who are either members of or on the periphery of some of ... their protests that have expressed really unfortunate comments. (But) I don't believe, the president doesn't believe that the Tea Party is a racist organization."

Their views, Biden said, are "very conservative."

"(We have) very different views on government and a whole lot of things," he said. "But it is not a racist organization."

His remarks come just a few days after the NAACP approved a resolution accusing the Tea Party of approving of racist elements within their organization—a charge that prompted the Tea Party to accuse the NAACP of racism. (Click here for the Upshot’s definitive explainer on the back and forth.)

Biden knows you can only play the race card so much before it becomes completely ineffective as it is now. Biden is a globalist and socialist like Obama. I don't trust him.

Yeah the race card fell flat and looked like a calculated smear job. Obama's wife was at the NAACP rally. She would have not been there without oking that with Obama. What has happened is it backfired and they look like biggoted hate mongers

So now we have damage control. Notice despite there being no evidence of racism and Biden not knowing of even one such event he still calls "people" racist. The tea party is no more racist that your local church group. People of all races, ages, and genders harbor prejudices.

Not even going to get into how blatantly some elements of left can be racist. Such as Reid's negro dialect comment or Mathews "I forgot he was black" comment. Those are very clear instances of racism. Yet this is overlooked, and we are told that there are "Phantom" racists action taking place in the tea party. Without any proof, whatsoever.

It' amazing Biden can still say this garbage, he is still trying to call Tea Party people racist ina very underhanded way. I have gone into some black neighborhoods that were VERY racist. There are all kinds of racists and usually the biggest racists are the very ones calling people out on it.

Because it isn't an "organization". :) I'm sure he'll later clarify that even though the non-existent "organization" isn't racist, it is sure full of racist members.

The lack of racism in the Tea Party movement demonstrates that the war against racism in America has been won. Congratulations. Now they are crying because there is not enough evidence of racism in groups they don't like. Boo Hoo.

Watched the last 20 minutes of the show, they stated that Palin and Dick Armey were the 'leaders' of the 'Tea Party'. No wonder as to why o'Bama and Biden think that the tea party is not racist...

Co-Opt Completed...

(No I am not racist, by the way...)

They can claim whomever they want as leaders. That rasumussen poll showed another name in the mix. The difference is both of those want to direct the movement, our "leader" just wants to inspire us to move on our own.

That makes Obama better than Bush, Bush said Minutemen border volunteer watchers were vigilantes.

Of course he said they weren't racist. People would be all over him if he said they were.
