Why did he stopped paying taxes? What was his motivation?

He didn't hurt anyone, violate anyones property or participate in any aggressive coercive action against innocent people. He simply did not pay the mob a big enough cut, and now he's getting punished.

Extortion, straight up.

Why did he stopped paying taxes? What was his motivation?

Because he had the misguided belief that what he earned was actually his? He discovered that the govt only lets you keep what they think you should get.

He shoulda supported Dr. Paul last go around. Live and learn wesley.

Perhaps he can be reached in prison somehow, and we can get reading material to him?

You're thinking of Simon Pheonix, currently serving in cryo prison for crimes he committed in 1996.

You know the IRS owes me over a grand from last years tax return...I am waiting to see if they are going to pay up. If not I want them to go to jail for three years.

What about Timothy Geithner?

The chosen elite don't have to obey the rules....they can do whatever they want. They can even become PRESIDENT!

What about Timothy Geithner?

Everyone I discussed this with today said the same thing.

From the CNN article.

Defense attorneys in court documents suggested that to sentence Snipes harshly would be to disregard the jury's verdict.

But prosecutors, in their sentencing recommendation, said the jurors' decision "has been portrayed in the mainstream media as a 'victory' for Snipes. The troubling implication of such coverage for the millions of average citizens who are aware of this case is that the rich and famous Wesley Snipes has 'gotten away with it.' In the end the criminal conduct of Snipes must not be seen in such a light."

So it is not about justice. It is about sending a message to scare the American people into submission to obey their IRS slave master. Where is the outrage?

He was probably free pending appeal.

I wouldn't be surprised if Obama pardons him simply because people will vote for Obama or the Dems simply for keeping Blade out of prison.

People are too terrified to be outraged. It reminds me of watching the Soprano's. Nobody would dare get mad or retaliate to the mob. If they do... bad things happen to them.

IRS owes you a lot more than that.
