HUGE Update:

Adam Curry posted a new show today: DSC 672 (http://www.podshow.com/shows/?mode=d...sode_id=83310). In the show he gushes over Ron Paul again and plays a voice mail left by Rassmusen from the campaign stating that Ron Paul would love to do his show and that he just needs to call him to set it up. He also talks about Aaron Russo on his show and Freedom to Fascism. He stated that he WILL support Ron Paul and he will do fund raising for him.

More to come.

For all of us non-podcasties, anyone care to explain how big of a deal a Adam Curry endorsement is? I see that he is considered the "father of podcasting," but I'm not sure how great that is at this time (though it'll grow in importance later). Any stats on the number of listeners he reaches? Demographics?

Someone mention ronpaulgraphs.com to him. Would be nice for him to watch what kind of effect he can have on donations.

I think everyone needs to call in and show Adam how much support The grassroots Really has for Dr Paul!!

Well, flooding his phonelines isn't really going to be very produtive. If you want to call and thank him or something, fine. But he doesn't need 4000 calls. He's already supporting RP, lets not make him regret it!

Not so sure about that...I would think that the goal of such shows is to get as much listener support as possible.

Flooding the phone lines is a good thing, IMO...it proves that the listeners are there, which makes advertising on that show more attractive to businesses.

So he mentions Paul very favorably in two consecutive podcasts, and not a single surge appears in the fundraising numbers. Why not? How affective really is he going to be at motivating his listeners to donate?

I think it's great that he's pro-Paul, but if he's as influential as everyone suggests, I would have expected some kind of surge on Paul's numbers, even a tiny blip.

Are you even watching the graph? I've seen several $2300 donation jumps today.

Here is a very good article (http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/13.03/curry.html?pg=1&topic=curry&topic_set=)about Curry and podcasting in general, but it's from March 2005 and says Curry's show is downloaded by about 50,000 people. Surely that number is bigger by now, but I couldn't find any current stats.

No I'm looking at totals only, where he's only raised about 60k in the last 36 hours, compared to the avg 80-90k per 24 hour period all last week.

And are you taking into account the fund-raising e-mail's effect from last week? These things don't operate in a vacuum...various things can have an effect.

This is really really really great news!!

I thought Paulites are supposed to be soooo tech savy? I worked in IT some few years ago and everyone I knew then just loved Adam. We actually listened to him during coffee breaks. But maybe it is just a European thing?
