Gov. Jan Brewer's office is poring through thousands of donations to the legal defense fund she set up for the state's new immigration law, looking for contributions from hate groups.

The search comes after American Third Position - whose website says it supports all efforts to "stem and reverse the browning of America" - announced it made a "triple-digit donation" to the fund.

Brewer spokesman Paul Senseman said the governor will reject all such donations and has several staffers working on the problem. The roughly $1.2 million in funding has come from 24,000 individuals from nearly every state.

I would be more impressed if she had the moxy to keep it. Why give money back to racists to spend it on racist endeavors? Better to keep it an use it appropriately.

That would require the ability to comprehend basic logic.

This is America.

Ron Paul got burned and smeared by the media by keeping Stormfront's (Hate Group) money. Remember? (http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig8/malone2.html)

The Media is trying to smear Jan Brewer already:

Of course I remember it, that is why I referenced his defense of it and I agree with him. If we are to change things, then we must stop running scared and meet these smears head-on. There is no logical reason to give money to racists.

In fact during the RP campaign, knocking on doors I came across a black lady who got all excited and spoke of that exact quote by Dr. Paul and agreed with him. She was proud of him keeping the money. She ended up putting an RP sign up in her yard.

The Media is trying to smear Jan Brewer already:

Exactly my point. They are gonna smear her no matter what. Might as well call them on it.

That team in Arizona are 3 steps ahead of everybody.

A3P can give the 100k to me. I'll take a 10% cut and forward the money to Jan. That's a win win for everybody.

But some 12 year old boy on MSNBC said Arizona in and of itself is a hate group.

Protecting the border isn't racist.

She returned it? Why not donate it to a charity?

Disclaimer: I loathe that dumb broad.

Well said! I agreed with Dr. Paul on that one too.

I actually remember this group. One of their supporters on this forum posted extremely disturbing videos from them a few months ago. I think he was since banned for being an idiot.

Because they are more trouble than they are worth. That is actually one thing I disagreed with Dr. Paul on and wish he had sent the money back. It's simply not worth the headache and it just encourages these idiots to support you more.

When Sarah Palin endorsed Rand Paul we had members here saying he should reject her endorsement even though she is loved by about 40% of Americans. Yet some people think we should take money from people supported by about 0.1% of Americans?
