While some have put too much focus lately on Russian, Israeli spies networks in America and even questioned loyalties of mainstream internet reporters like Matt Drudge, this troubling news report reveals that spying accusations are not limited to any single group and even descendants of iconic inventors like Graham Bell can get caught up in such traps:

WASHINGTON – A federal judge on Friday sentenced a former State Department worker who is the great grandson of Alexander Graham Bell to life in prison without possibility of parole for spying for Cuba and sentenced the man's wife to more than 5 years behind bars for helping her husband steal U.S. secrets.

U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton said Kendall and Gwendolyn Myers betrayed the United States for three decades and should receive heavy punishment for having done so.

Sad yes, but it appears this man committed treason. He is lucky to not be hung.

Not as lucky as AIPAC executives, Obama just dropped their prosecution for spying perhaps due to political pressure from foreign lobbies. Bush administratioin / US prosecutors/FBI had worked hard to build those cases, their efforts went to waste pretty much. Way to go Dems.

“I think Alexander Graham Bell’s greatest crime was keeping deaf people apart from each other. It wasn’t so much that he thought speech was important. Worse than that was that he didn’t want deaf people to marry each other. He didn’t want them to be near each other. He wanted them to be apart.”

In 1884, Bell published a paper “Upon the Formation of a Deaf Variety of the Human Race,” in which he warned of a “great calamity” facing the nation: deaf people were forming clubs, socializing with one another and, consequently, marrying other deaf people. The creation of a “deaf race” that yearly would grow larger and more insular was underway. Bell noted that “a special language adapted for the use of such a race” already was in existence, “a language as different from English as French or German or Russian.” Some eugenicists called for legislation outlawing intermarriage by deaf people, but Bell rejected such a ban as impractical. Instead he proposed the following steps: “(1) Determine the causes that promote intermarriages among the deaf and dumb; and (2) remove them. The causes he sought to remove were sign language, deaf teachers, and residential schools. His solution was the creation of special day schools taught by hearing teachers who would enforce a ban on sign language.

Elishah Gray invented the telephone. If Bell didn't have an insider in the patent office it would've been Gray phone company that kicked things off in America.

You are not comfortable with mention of AIPAC spies or you insist on invoking their religion in discussing this subject ? Invoking religion in this context and by addressing the AIPAC top laerdership caught spying for Israel as "jews" as you do would associate and vilify all people of jewish faith with an anti American activity and would not be an accurate charcterization.

There was serious focus on AIPAC spies prosecution during Bush administration days:

Obama administration dropped the prosecution and now there is publicized focus on Russian spies:

So when treason comment was made by a member, it was pointed out that not all espionage prosecutions are being treated equally by Obama handlers. Hope things are clear now.
