Symbols can be pretty powerful things. I am trying to see what symbols exist for Liberty, or original new ideas for symbols.

Obviously you have the Bald Eagle, The Statue of Liberty, and the Liberty Bell. Unfortunately the meaning of these has been perverted. Despite the word Liberty, they are rather used to represent pure patriotism without considering if that patriotism is a result of the liberties we have.

Obviously we have the snake used on the Gadsden flag? But what other symbols are there, or what could be used as new symbols?

Sincerely,

I've been thinking about this for a long time, I came up with a large spider of some sort. Tarantulas don't travel in packs or anything like that, they kinda do what they want, and you don't mess with them. Plus in these times, liberty is feared by Statists, Liberals, Conservatives, so on so forth, I think a spider could really represent that as so many people fear spiders.

The long horizonatal line represents the GRASSROOTS gathering under the LIBERTY TREE.

The Yellow background represents the energy of living in LIBERTY. The pointed limbs and roots are NEW GROWTH in LIBERTY and this new growth is TRUTH.

In my poem, KNOWLEDGE was the KEY to LIBERTY and that TRUTH HURTS. Standing under the Liberty Tree is not for wimps because sometimes we must bare painful truths that we may not want to hear and face imprisonment for informing others. There are dead limbs. Misleading information and lies will kill LIBERTY and so it goes.

It is OUR responsibility to keep the LIBERTY TREE alive through our efforts of informing and discussing information and ideas. Our efforts to strip away lies and propaganda that leads us AWAY from one another and kills discussion, ideas, voices and facts, THIS IS OUR CHALLENGE.

I think something simple based around the letter "I" could make a great symbol for individual liberty. The word "I" represents you as an individual.

Also, I like this one that a voluntaryist came up with for voluntaryism. :)

I think it'd be too synonymous with selfishness.
