Today, The Jacksonville Observer published a great piece detailing the Republican Party of Florida's Purge of Ron Paul Republicans, the corruption of the leadership and the despicable behavior of the St. Johns County REC Leadership.

Kristi Dunn: Thrasher Needs to Correct Greer’s Mistakes

Editorial by Kristi Dunn, RLCNEF

To some the arrest of the former Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) Chairman, Jim Greer, may have come as a surprise. However, to some of us who have been fighting corruption within the RPOF, it was an absolution of our concerns and warnings.

As members of the Republican Liberty Caucus (RLC), we often find ourselves in opposition to those within the party, because we stand for consistency and accountability. The RLC is a coalition of traditional conservatives and liberty-minded Republicans working within the Republican Party to promote individual liberty, less government and state and national sovereignty. We advocate for strict adherence to the United States Constitution in accordance with the original intentions of its framers. One thing that differentiates us from most conventional Republican clubs is that we are not afraid to hold our elected officials accountable and to point the finger at our own party in an effort to keep those who represent us, principle-oriented and value-driven.

Because of that stance, under Chairman Greer, local RLCer’s John Stevens and Will Pitts were removed from their positions in the Republican Party of Florida. While the grievances filed against them stated that they were attempting to disparage the Republican Party, they were actually seeking to remind others that, while to some it may seem that the Republican Party has lost its way, it was still the place for the conservative message.

How many more events like these will persuade people in the Liberty Movement to abandon the Republican Party and start our own legitimate third party? We have millions of people on our side. Why internally fight the neo-cons and partisan loyalists when we can use our energy to run campaigns and move this country back to liberty?

How has the LP done over the last 30 years?

We must have a coalition. We can chose to lead it, or remain on the sidelines, as you suggest.

How has the Republican Party done over the last 30 years? It has directed us towards socialism, and is controlled by the liberal political establishment that fears an independent third party, and doesn't want to seriously address our ideas.

coalition:
–noun
1. a combination or alliance, esp. a temporary one between persons, factions, states, etc.
2. a union into one body or mass; fusion.

Yes, a coalition into a new third party that will put the Republican Party out of business, so that we have a REAL choice.

And where is the funding and noterity going to come from to push a real third party? Without a Ross Perot there is none. And as Ron Paul has suggested, we must work within the system we have a much longer way to go going about it as you're suggesting vs working within the two party system.

I bet LP did more then any other third party that endured did.

And LP will be that much more powerful if millions of RP Republicans went to it.
