Like many organizations they started with a good purpose, were needed and did a lot of good things.

Now they may be useful every now and again but how do you justify this huge organization and massive budgets when you are only needed "now and again". So they need to create a need for themselves even when there is none.

I'd probably put the Jewish ADL in a similar category. And even the Italian ADL that was protesting against the TV show "Jersey Shore".

Gotta justify those budgets or else they're all out of work and have to get a real job.
