A GE repairman came to my house to fix my dishwasher and he noticed i was watching cnbc... He asked me if i'd ever heard of max keiser and he started telling me about fiat currency, the imf and a plan to roll out a global currency under the SDR.

People are awake out there. Its just a matter of how it plays out in a political sense. The politicians in office today have no clue whats on the minds of voters b/c voters are no longer accepting the main stream crap on the TV.

Even the GE repair man was telling me how he pulled saving out of the bank and bought gold...

The "writing" has been on the wall a long time, but be careful to push people into gold... the fact is, as the Scriptures say: " no man knoweth the hour" of the end... Ron Paul has been forseeing this crisis for decades, but it took decades to happen... remember that.

Why would a guy that deals with tangible items all day long knowing about tangible goods as money (gold/silver) surprise you?
I'd think that people that deal in virtual goods/items all day long would be harder to get through to.

it wasn't his opinion on gold, it was how he knew about the IMF, and how goldman help greece cook its books then set up to profit off the collapse they knew was coming. He told me that the banks don't have any reserves and that in the event of a run there would be a bank holiday like during the great depression.

it was his knowledge of history and how much he knew about what is REALLY going on, not just that buying gold is a good idea...

10 years ago how would any one who wasn't friends with a bona-fide austrian economist know any of that? The internet is so powerful. people sense that the TV is full of shit and they are finding the answers online. Its amazing. as a person who's been on the 'net since the early 90s, its so exciting to see it permeating to all levels of society, and all the truth and knowledge that is not only available to the average joe, but just how many average joes are taking advantage of it it learn about these complex issues instead of just downloading porn and tweeting about the last chick he banged...

It's seldom the elite that are going to talk to you about gold and the IMF and other economic issues; they benefit too strongly from the status quo, and why would you bump into most of these people to begin with? A lot of common folks are the ones who'll tell you, point blank, how screwed we are. Look at the posters' demographics (there've been so many polls...) as to age, job type, family situation, and so on. The vast majority aren't millionaires, or upper level bankers/businessmen, and so on. We are not the President's men; we are the people that get screwed by the President's men.

I agree very much.

The hard part is getting people to speak up. Of course leaders speak up anyway, so those of us uncaring about the potential mocking will speak up anyway. But there is still a very paralyzing sentiment in most peoples mind of "What if they laugh at me?"
