Would Paul's campaign offering to pay Mongiardo's former campaign $80,000 (his campaign debt) for an endorsement be prudent?

Hell No.

Maybe an anonymous Paul supporter could drop 70 ounces of gold in Mongiardo's backyard after a deal, but the official campaign shouldn't do it.

why dont the CJ ask for a comment from the Paul campaign? if it was about him there would be a snarky comment from the Democrats in the story

"Winning candidates often help their beaten primary opponents pay off campaign debts."

didn't know this. kind of sad that these scumbags run up debts to campaign. anyone surprised they seem to have no problems running up the debt once elected?

No to that too, if you mean behind the scenes collusion.
