Great article. Important for everyone on here to read and understand.

Personally, I still support the idea of trying to reform the republican party and get libertarian candidates elected as republicans... but at the same time - if this time around - including the November elections and 2012 presidential election... if the republican party is not mostly are moving towards mostly being converted by then - I'm all done with the republican party, period.

Which has a larger impact, Ron Paul in congress for 30 years pushing for smaller government but often being the lone "No" vote?
Or the possibility of a Libertarian Party candidate one day being elected into congress to cast that "No" vote as a Libertarian?

True, the Conservative leadership sucks, but it was never correct to begin with ;) The only hope for "conservatives" is RP-esque "fusionism". Even this will only prolong the inevitable crash and death of the State, tho.

Do what you want, but it took the socialists 150 years to accomplish their goals. Assuming we can take back the right in less than 8 years seems a little naive.

Fair enough. You make a good point.

There has been a lot of headway made in the past just few years even. I guess I'm just so sickened by it all, and it's made me a little impatient.

At the same time, I've only recently embraced the libertarian ideology and started really getting involved within the last few years. I can't imagine how frustrating it's been for those who have been libertarian activists for the past 30 years.

There's no doubt in my mind, that at some point, true freedom will in fact win out and govt will eventually become a relic of humanity's barbaric past - one way or another. Seeing this happen in my lifetime would be nice, though ;)

Neither.

the gop has one chance in 2010 and the last chance in 2012, Ron Paul or Gary Johnson in 2012 Paul/Johnson or Johnson/Paul either will do,no one else accepted! the gop has no credibility unless they nominate Ron Paul or Gary Johnson!!! seems to me the gop is making a 3rd party possible by their failures!!! I will keep fighting but their will be some point where the dead dog( gop establishment) must be put down!

well if the gop cannot field candidates worth a dam, then i have no option but to look elsewhere. i will never vote for a republican just because an R is next to their name, even if satan is running against them!!

the gop has brought this on themselves. the bottom line shape up or be shipped out should be the message we send to the gop as republicans!!! we need to focus this obama bashing on to the true source, the gop establishment!!!

Well hell, if the Neocons were able to co-opt the Republican party, why can't the libertarians?

Valid point, but bear in mind that the socialists had to hide waht they were doing because they are.... welll.... WRONG, to put it simply. We, OTOH, are RIGHT.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Title reminds me of a T / bumper sticker:

"It's hard to be right when the government is wrong"

The sticker is just words. The T I haven't seen available in years, but sported an image of a bunch of JBT's breaking down someones door.

Hannity was openly calling to start WW3 with Iran tonight on TV. Is there any greater enemy of the US than Hannity. Hopefully we will have our complete and total economic collapse before that happens.

PS
I only tuned into Hannity for 5 minutes. Any more than and I get a migraine. I can't tell who is better Insanity or Olberfuck.
