Just when neocons and America firsters are trying to use US military to attack settlers, another bombshell from APA:

Psychology group backs CIA detainee abuse claim

Associated Press Writer Andrew Welsh-huggins, Associated Press Writer – Sat Jul 10, 6:01 pm ET

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Psychologists in the United States have been warned by their professional group not to take part in torturing detainees in U.S. custody.

Now the American Psychological Association has taken the unprecedented step of supporting an attempt to strip the license of a psychologist accused of overseeing the torture of a CIA detainee.

Obama's plate is already full with housing crisis, employment crisis, tight golf schedule and oil spill pollution, why doesn't the man get a break?

:D

If he never assumed he had a "plate" to fill to the point of spilling all over the place, there wouldn't be any of these problems.;)

The APA is a private lobbying organization, and psychologists are not required to be members. The APA code of ethics only applies to their members. While the APA can provide "support", they have no real power other than to revoke someone's membership (which is equivalent to revoking someone's membership in a grocery-store savings card program).

Incidentally, military psychologists don't have to join the APA either.
