Alex is right on this one. Watching them sing We are the world for an athlete is pathetic.

Oh, well, Mr. Jones was simply discussing the irrational obsession of all too many individuals in this country with LeBron James, Lindsey? Lohan, and other random celebrities. The best (worst? lol) part is the clip of the Governor of Ohio singing, choir-style, with a group of other individuals, trying to woo Mr. James into staying on their team. Infomercial-quality production values on that clip. Considering how well states usually allocate resources, it must have cost the individuals of Ohio, $20 million. Wow.

wtf?

Well there are a lot of people admitting that we are slipping into the 2nd great depression, we are about to go to war with Iran, and all the media can talk about is Lebron James and Lindsey Lohan.. that was also sorta the gist.

Does anyone else think this decade's propaganda is similar to the 90s? The 90s had its share of utter tripe as well, OJ Simpson, etc.

I think it has to do with which faction is in control. The liberals like to put people asleep, while feeding a steady diet of shame and guilt, while presenting hope and change, in a package of smart, hip, stylish, and sexy. The whole time they do this they also distract us with utter nonsense so that we don't catch on to the marketing ploy.

The neocons when in power like to use fear and greed, and are a little more straightforward with their tactics.

This is how it's been for 50 years. I thought the video said something new and exciting.

I agree, with Alex Jones, even though I watched the LeBron program last night. I don't think there is anything wrong with liking sports, but when it becomes an infatuation to the point where you don't care about current events it is a problem. There is no problem with having a variety of interests. But when a society as a whole only cares about celebrity gossip and sports there is a social problem.

Phew. And for a while today I was really thinking that I was the only rationally thinking person that felt as if the whole LeBron James thing is utterly ridiculous and irrelevant. I find it very sad and kind of disgusting that people WASTE so much goddamned brainpower on spectator sports and getting utterly smashed.

All part of the dumbing down of America.
