BP-themed board game foreshadows Gulf spill

The BP-themed game called Offshore Oil Strike asks players to explore for oil, build platforms, construct pipelines and -- you guessed it -- avoid disasters such as oil spills. The goal is to be the first to make $120,000,000, the UK's Metro said.

Players also have to avoid getting "hazard cards" like one that says, "Blow-out! Rig damaged. Oil slick clean-up costs. Pay $1 million."

One unit of the rare board game, made by Scottish company Printabox, was recently donated to the House on the Hill Toy Museum in the UK, MSNBC notes. The box includes a BP logo in the corner.

Interesting. Apparently, BP collaborated in developing the game.

There are tons of pages about this, and I bet the game company is mulling over re-releasing it. At the same time, I bet BP is having a cow over that prospect :)
