Hello,
I started the site www.thelibertyupdate.com (http://www.thelibertyupdate.com) about two weeks ago as a hub for news, articles and videos related to the Libertarian / Ron Paul movement. I started it because I have a passion for the subject, but I have decided to take that passion in a different direction.

So it's for sale! You can have the domain (registered for a year) and the site as it exists right now including the custom WordPress design and the existing content. I can help transfer the domain and the files to the domain registrar and web host of your choice.

I've already done the set-up and design so all you have to do is publish your content and build your audience.

I'll start the bidding as low as $20 just so I can recoup my costs so far. Email me at libertyupdate@gmail.com with an offer. Thanks.

Step 1) Buy domain name that would appeal to libertarians
Step 2) Put content taken from the dailypaul on it
Step 3) Lose interest
Step 4) Offer to sell domain on ronpaulforums
Step 5) Profit

seeing hes selling it for $20, I really dont have any problem with this as ekrub is insinuating.

I never said I had a problem with it. I personally don't care if he sells it for a million dollars.

I'd be more interested if it were already getting some traffic. Doesn't it even get more than 1 visitor a day?

I can see how it might seem that way, but that wasn't exactly my plan. I have an interest in both web design and libertarian politics so I wanted to start a blog as an experiment and a learning experience.

I have been a regular reader of the DailyPaul since I first heard of Ron Paul during the 2008 campaign. So when I started the site I did not want to take away from existing Ron Paul sites – I wanted to add to the movement, to spread the message, to help it grow.

In order to do that I first I tried to go directly to the sources: news, youtube channels, etc. but I realized that often I ended up with a lot of the same content anyway. So I started to add my own commentary (http://www.thelibertyupdate.com/the-latest-judge-napolitano-videos/) and my own original articles (http://www.thelibertyupdate.com/minimum-wage-helps-the-poor-right/).

Now I would like to try to contribute to the movement by providing good original content and for that I may start a new site (with a more appropriate domain) or just try to get published on existing blogs, magazines, etc.

The site has had 55 unique visitors and 340 page views, but that has come from friends and family, posting links to other Ron Paul sites, and sending out links thru my social media accounts.

Honestly, this site has no regular audience yet.

The real benefit here is that if you were looking to start your own libertarian / Ron Paul blog and you like the name and design you can just have this one. Building a blog audience is hard work and you have all that ahead of you, but the initial hurdles of set-up and design are enough to stop many people from even trying.

Basically, I am offering a domain name and a custom blog theme in case anyone was looking to start a new libetarian / Ron Paul blog.

Hey Liberty Update -- Keep up the good work!

I think twenty bucks is a steal for someone that wants to go in that (http://www.thelibertyupdate.com/) direction. Great Offer! And Welcome to RPF.

I would buy it, but my blog is the Liberty Ticker instead of the Liberty Update. But I really like the setup and the ability to get email subscription.

Can you post up polls and a blogroll or related sites tab?

Yes all of those are possible. The website is powered by WordPress (http://wordpress.org/) which allows for an immense amount of customization. WordPress is essentially a web application that allows you to log in and post content and customize your blog using a graphical user interface so you don't have to know or change any code. Many features, including the ones you mentioned are available either through the standard installation or as plug-ins. The email subscription feature is a free service from Google FeedBurner (feedburner.google.com/).

I am a freelance web designer and so I created a custom version of a free Wordpress theme called Atahualpa (http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/atahualpa).

This blog is pre-designed and ready-to-go, but if anyone wants to create a new blog or update their design/features I can help with that too.
