I feel like we should be thankful it's a rate hike and not a straight up tax.

We need to restart the American Letter Mail Company!

Well, a free market would just make more business go to another carrier with a lower price. What is needed is an alternative to the U.S. Mail so the free market can do it's job.

Give them their raise! :) The postal workers will have to endure inflation like the rest of us.

BTW... what organization... besides government... in the face of losing profits... cuts their service to return to profitability?
Schools do it... the Post Office does it... but does it make sense to cut Saturday delivery out? Does it make sense for schools to go to four day weeks? (Actually I would like for government schools to go to zero day weeks)... <- think how much money that would save!

Seriously... for the business owners... does it make sense to cut services in order to save money?

It's been done before and the U.S Government crushed it :(

The best example for any idiot Leftist who thinks that America is the best example of "evil" free trade.

It's a step generally taken by airlines. That said there are union labor laws and other government interference that still cast a shadow on the industry.

They need to legalize private delivery of personal mail.
