This is so true. Their entire state's economy is based on the dream of being able to do what you want and they constantly have to struggle with the federal goverment trying to legislate against it.

Nevada, from the business owners, to the employees to the people who live there cause they love the life is RIPE for RP's liberty loving message!

Isn't that the state where RP beat Romney in a straw poll? And RP didn't even show up?

great idea about steping up things in NV

Of the early states, I think NV, NH, WY, and MI are our best shots.
These might be bit more difficult, but still in play:
Thompson will be tough to beat in SC
Romney will be tough to beat in IA
Rudy will be tough to beat in FL

Just how big is the Nevada straw poll? Is it as large as the Ames poll?

No, I think they said it was about 500 people.

Romney is going to be the guy to beat in most of the early states.

Bringing him down a notch will ensure a more even vote split.

Nevada is having a caucus, not a primary. It will all come down to turnout.

bingo! If we can bring 2% new primary voters to every state, we can win every state.

His message does fit perfectly into the state...but how do we get over 100,000 votes there?

well, it's time for nevada's meetup groups to start planning their door-to-door campaign....of getting info into the hands and on the door knobs of those populous counties. course, this will ultimately have to be a nation-wide effort.

these national walks for rp is cool....but the key, imho, will be going door to door to put info into peoples hot hands. hell, lets get real, rp name recognition is low in huge parts of texas. don't even kid yourself......so buy yourself some comfy shoes, get your peeps together and put your door to door plan together and hit the gosh darn pavement. we have to act as our own mail carriers and blanket the neighborhoods of this nation at least 3x or more.........we either plant the seeds or we die in the weeds

Haha..On the campaign website there's an article about the NV straw poll. Apparently it was McCain that came in a weak second, and Romney placed in the single digits. People came to "hear him speak, but wouldn't vote for him."

LOL

NV is the second most friendly to RP's ideas. THis is the state that got the sagebrush rebellion started in the 80's. Northen Nevada is more receptive than the los vegas area. Too many LA folks moved into Los Vegas. Rural folks tend to be more libertarian Republican than the suburbs. The attitude of rural westerners is just leave us alone. I am still laughing at my father in law moving up to Idaho and has found himself surrounded by RP supporters. I have been working on him but he is pretty stuborn. The last time I talked to him he told me rather dejectedly "You ought to be up here, you would be right at home with your other RP supporters. They are all over the Place here"

whts the diff?

The diff is that we need to turn out people in each of thousands of precincts across the state, who will stay for an hour or so and elect Ron Paul delegates, rather than hope that we can convince a lot of people to pull a lever then go home.

We will need thousands of people around the state to walk precincts and convince their neighbors to be ready to support Ron on a Saturday morning. It's not as easy as a primary.

The entire state's economy is based on the fact that they basically have a monopoly on gambling.

If RP wants to relax online gambling laws this hurts Vegas.

I'm not so sure it's a slam dunk because of conflicts of interest between big business in Vegas and freedom everywhere else.

Actually, many of the big casino companies were in the process of setting up their own on line sites when the ban went in to effect. So, it's not as much of a problem as you think. And since there are tens and probably hundreds of thousands of casino workers who work for tips, the Tax Free Tips Act should be very popular.

Casinos don't make that much money on gambling especially the big ones. They make far more on hotel stays, shows, and food.

If we're going to win Nevada, RP supporters must register as Republicans and now to flood those caucuses.

They must also covince LP and IAP supporters to do the same.

The vegas meetup is doing awesome with signs. We had a few people here in PA tell us yesterday that they'd seen his signs all over Vegas during recent trips. They had tons of questions, and left with bumper stickers, signs, and literature. Yay for Nevada.
