I don't think there are many cons. One that I am thinking of is if Republicans take over the house and senate, the margins will likely be close to even, and the Republicans won't be able to get anything passed or repealed.

Or, if Republicans go ahead and elect a bunch of neocons that pursue the same policies as Obama and Bush.

well one of their long term goals is to get rid of individual candidates and have people only vote for a party, then the party appoints the actual "representatives" after the election. They spelled it out in a book they published around the time of the bicentennial.

they got rid of the constitutional requirements to be president with obama so that's a good start on their part
