First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they attack you, then you win.

It sounds like some alleged technical violation regarding the borderline between advocating for issues and advocating for candidates.

Liberal use of the acronym "CFL" has been creating an uproar with the Canadian Football League. The FEC is coming down hard as a good will gesture to Canadian football fans.

More so since Ricky Williams could be associated with either group:

Could this involve the Ken Buck commercial that many viewed as an endorsement?

I don't imagine that. My uneducated guess is fining them, maybe charging them some kind of back taxes calculated out of what benefits they have as a 501(c)(4) that they wouldn't have if they were a 527 or something.

I just wish they would decouple their informational e-mails from their fund-raising e-mails.

I stopped opening their emails. It's worse than signing up with a pyramid marketing company.

Nicely done, good call.

The Collins nailed the response as well:

I think that everyone is in some violation of the FEC, but it's just selectively enforced.

That's the standard operating procedure of an authoritarian police state. They make the laws expansive, complex, and so easy to break that everyone ends up breaking them eventually. Then the government always has something to hang over the heads of the People - penalties for breaking the law.

I'm not getting them anymore. I found their information to be worthless.

There are a lot of educational articles and op-eds published by CFL that the daily email updates contain. Frequent contributors include Ron Paul, Tom Woods, Jacob Hornberger, excerpts from Hayek and Mises, and others.

A lot of these pieces are extremely substantive.

But anything of that sort is available on the main page of the CFL website's main page anyway, along with plenty of other high quality informative articles and blog posts that they don't send out in their emails.
