our local meetup was discussing handing out free hot chocolate on black friday along with ron paul slim jims and other literature.

Drive around to the big stores starting at about 1 am, with a few of those giant gatorade tubs full of hot chocolate with a few thousand styrofoam cups.

what do you think?

AND.. what would be the easiest way to make all that hot chocolate and keep it hot prior to heading out?

I work at a convenience store, so I have access to the bags of hot chocolate mix.

actually if the water is hot the insulation that keeps it cold will keep it hot too, for about 1-1.5 hours :)

Thats a really good idea.

Just make it and keep it in a thermos. You want it hot, but you dont want lawsuit hot.

Definitely a great idea!

How about a Black Friday boycott? Need to make it sound positive though... or there may be some blowback. Some ideas:

All I want for Christmas is my freedom.
An iPod or an end to the war?
Give your children a future of freedom for Christmas.

I'm going to stay home and "shop for liberty" by giving a nice fat donation :)

Phoenix is taking your idea and running with it! I actually though about this a month ago, but never put it on our calendar. Thanks for reminding me. However in Phoenix, we may stick to handing out water bottles lol!

I know what you mean.

Here in dreary Erie the hot chocolate would go over well. Its usually pretty cold that night.

Great idea. I probably can't do it, but passed it on to the meetup. Thanks.
