Sanford to endorse Rudy? Not in this lifetime

Stephen and I had an opportunity to chat one-on-one with Governor Mark Sanford this evening at CLC, and he despite reports to the contrary, the South Carolina governor will not be endorsing anyone until at least January. And when he does, it won’t be Mayor Giuliani.

More on CLC tomorrow.

I sure hope not, I would consider it a sellout. Rudy?

Thank God. Whew.

I knew he had more conviction than to endorse Rudy :)

He's campaigned with Rudy before.

Maybe he's waiting for the success of Ron Paul ? :D

in the eyes of the public, he got the endorsement. I read it, and I had no idea who stanford was but they were making a big hoopla about it.

I read it from the front page of yahoo.

disinformation... the damage was done. will there be a retraction? probably not...

It sounds like he'll be endorsing RP in January ro at least hinting at it. That would be a HUGE boost for RP in South Carolina. Sanford is too principled to endorse Benito.

Sanford would vote with Paul in Congress for smaller government. Frequently, Ron Paul and Sanford would be voting alone.

My favorite deal was when Sanford brought pigs into the South Carolina legislature to protest pork in spending bills. He's one of the good guys.
