I did contact them about this, and this is what I was told.

According to their by-laws they are a one issue grass roots org., and because of that, they are are not legally permitted to become involved unless the issue directly impacts them. They did openly oppose it, but the Feds, knowing that they would be a big force of opposition, excluded them from the Disclosure Act.

So basically, I said, they did that to legally shut you (the NRA0 up. The lady on the NAR side of the phone line said exactly. I know this is quite a legitimate answer because I am currently involved in drawing up the by-laws for a grass roots organization now. ..gov. regulation and bureaucracy can be very tricky much like a mine field.
