Actually, look up "liberalism" and "neoliberalism". It's not to be confused with social liberalism:

The policies Ron Paul proposes are those that are typically favored by the wealthy: low taxes, free trade, less regulation, hard money, property rights, privatized infrastructure. This is a globalist's wish list.

However, he has some positions that take out some of the sting, like:

Unlimited liability for companies.
Less barriers to entering protected industries.
Rolling back protections for intellectual property.


We have a problem, and that is that the dollar has greatly diminished in value. It has been propped up because it is the world's principal currency and other countries link the value of their currency to it, but that is changing. The fact that our exports suck indicates that our prices (and real wages) are too high because of false dollar strength, and so we import heavily using our fake money, with the result that our manufacturing base has been diminished.

It would have been best if our leaders had let our economy shrink back after WWII but, no, they have kept it jazzed with war and fake money, and now the looming correction to our standard of living is stupendous. We need to either take over the world by conquest (the Bush plan) or try to stabilize our economy (the Paul plan). Both of these have consequences in either perpetual war or a lowered standard of living. Perpetual war will burn us out like a bright flame, I think, so I'd rather have the latter.
