Pretty much every mainstream neoconservative Republican today holds Ronald Reagan in the ultimate pedestal. One thing that I find interesting is that despite Reagan being the father of modern conservatism, the Liberty movement has strong criticisms.

I think this is one major handicap to the electability of Ron Paul as a Republican for President. The moment you critique Reagan is the moment you will lose the majority of support from Republican voters.

This departure from Reagan-esque principles is probably one of the greatest reasons why I think Ron Paul or any other principled Liberty candidate will never win the Republican nomination for President.

This video from 1988 when Ron ran as a Libertarian tells all.

Speaking of aggressive, my favorite classic video of Ron:

When I see Ron Paul's younger fire cracker personality I feel like I am looking in the mirror. Confrontational and take no intellectual prisoners. I know the rest of you would love nothing more than to see the fire crackers develop some Ron Paul humility but hey.... it took him 6 decades so there is still time. :)

OP-just give it a few generations. When there is no longer any living memory of Reagan, average people will be able to think more clearly about his horrifying "legacy". (like Lincoln and every other tyrant)

That's my favorite video of Ron too.

"Why don't they put you on a diet, you're a little overweight!"

ROFL I love seeing statists get owned by Ron.
