I've been thinking about making a rant thread about this. Whether it be city, state, or federal the majority of tax money is spent in nanny and law enforcement capacities. When the inevitable need comes for cities and states to cut back, people shit themselves because invariably the money saving must include cutting funding that just makes people's hearts bleed. "He cut funding to babies/homeless/unemployed/prisons/police" is usually supposed to be valid and serious criticism. As if there was anything else that could be cut. And of course, the socialist response is that they should cut the pay of any and all elected officials.

Once the vote buying machine breaks down, maybe, just maybe, we can get our republic back. Until then, we're all whispering into the wind. The judge and Hoppe have both mentioned this numerous times. Take away the power of the purse and our nightmare ends.

Once the vote buying machine breaks down, they will just find a reason to completely bypass voting all together and act "in the interests of the state" and start directly appointing successors and filling empty congressional and federal seats.

It doesn't matter what they want to do if there is no money to fund it. Any money they spend now will be unavailable later. So they can spend millions on crazy regulations now, but they'll have nobody to enforce anything later. The same thing has happened in Chicago, fire fighters and cops are getting laid off and the unions are going insane.

The only hope for a truely free society to emerge is within the eventual collapse of the current system. Statism will kill itself.
