I found this while doing some research on a project I hope to get started and I had to laugh and share.

YouTube - Real Life Halo Full Exoskeleton Body Armor Suit (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqa08UGZGtk)

I'd take one for $2,000 CAD.

I find it somehow hard to believe that is the cost of that thing. He'd probably be better off selling it to the military at a cost of $250,000 per unit. Once they got used to it, you could take the price down and increase penetration.

.308 would destroy it.

I don't think it would stand up to a 9mm even.

Is this serious?
If so, I have to question our friendly neighbors to the north...

as well it doesn't take into account for the blount trauma that would be experienced by a bullet even if it didn't penetrate.

And what's up with the 3d glasses?

And what's up with the 3d glasses?

So he can watch Avatar in 3d on his 3d tv at his house and not get out of his suit.

That type of glass is used to block lasers from blinding you (I once had goggles made from the same material).

The video showed the armor standing up to 9mm fire. There isn't any form of light armor that can stand up to a .308 (only ceramic plates or other exotics), and that isn't what it is designed for. There was a lot of foam between the bullet and the back of the armor, so the impact would be spread out quite widely. I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't even feel small arms fire. Foams are used in cushions for a reason.

Ok I could see that with the 3d glasses, hadn't thought of that. And yeah, you're right about that at the end. I thought it was 000 shot from the shotgun the first time i watched it, but it is copper and a cylindrical so probably a bullet.
