LAKE JACKSON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Congressman Ron Paul has endorsed State Rep. Justin Amash in the race for Michigan’s 3rd Congressional district.

“We believe that Justin Amash is the best candidate in this race and is best poised to win in both the primary and general elections. We hope the people of Michigan will send this fine conservative leader to Washington at a time when he is sorely needed.”

Said Dr. Paul, “I am proud to endorse Justin Amash for United States Congress.

“Justin Amash in one of the most principled young leaders I have seen in a generation. Justin will do the work to fight for lower taxes and spending and for more freedom in Washington. We need people like Justin voting with me in Congress.

“Justin Amash understands our Constitution and will fight against out-of-control government to restore our Liberty. Justin has the courage to stand up against the bailouts and government takeovers being forced down our throats by Washington insiders.

“In addition to his impeccable voting record and tremendous personal integrity, I have been thoroughly impressed by Justin’s commitment to transparency. Justin draws back the shroud of secrecy that Big Government uses to confuse our fellow citizens and shows his constituents, plainly and clearly, what our tax dollars are paying for.

“The American people need more than just another vote. We need a man of principle who will always stand up for what is right. We need a citizen politician who will represent US. Justin Amash is just that kind of individual.”

Said Liberty PAC director Jesse Benton, “We believe that Justin Amash is the best candidate in this race and is best poised to win in both the primary and general elections. We hope the people of Michigan will send this fine conservative leader to Washington at a time when he is sorely needed.”

Liberty PAC is Congressman Paul’s leadership Political Action Committee. Its mission is to identify and support candidates that believe in Liberty, limited government, fiscal responsibility and a common sense, pro-America foreign policy.

It's exciting someone in favor of freedom is unbelievably electable without much effort. With some more money, he is basically in the Congress.

It's exciting someone in favor of freedom is unbelievably electable without much effort. With some more money, he is basically in the Congress.

To call Justin "unbelievably electable" is a BIG overstatement. Justin is certainly in contention, perhaps more so than any other liberty candidate not named Rand, but he will need great fundraising to attack the big-government establishment in Grand Rapids who is desperately trying to bring him down.

It's going to be a tough three-way race between Amash, Hardiman, and Heacock.

After getting caught plagiarizing his whole platform and issues section by the Amash campaign, Heacock attempted to bury the negative press by getting the sitting congressman (a bailout supporting big government RINO) to endorse him a few hours later:

This will be a fight to the finish. Honestly, I think a big part could depend on how much we commit to helping out Justin financially.
