Penn Teller says:
When I disagree with Obama, people always say, "Well, you're a big Bush guy then." And I'm like no, I didn't like Bush either. I disagree with Bush and Obama on all the stuff they agree on, which is pretty much everything. They both want to kill people, they both want the government to be bigger, and they both want less freedom for individuals.http://z.about.com/d/realitytv/1/0/3/Q/1/Penn_Jillette.jpg

I don't love that guy, but he's certainly right in this case. Netflix streams his shows.. I've been watching them and most of them are bullshit.

Well he'll make some statement like, "Some people believe dolphins are really intelligent and can communicate with humans.. "

Then he'll show some nutbag who is trying to make dolphin noises and communicate with dead dolphin souls from New Mexico and say, "Look!! That person is completely nuts! Now let's all laugh at her while we come to my pre-conceived conclusion! Let's talk to a scientist who agrees with me, and not talk to any scientists who may have a valid disagreement!!"

I mean, he might be right in some of his shows, he just doesn't do a very good job debunking the other position. It can be pretty entertaining at times, though.

How long until Penn runs for some kind of public office? He'd make a great governor of Nevada.

Something tells me he wouldn't be into that. Although not a bad idea.

Bummer. He used to do a better job. :( I'll have to check it out when I have time someday.

I remember him saying he wouldn't run because Americans wouldn't vote for an atheist according to some poll.

Ya I should probably watch the first season when they weren't as starving for ideas.

Penn often talks about how "no one should have that kind of power" when referring to politics, and has been sounding an awful lot like an Anarcho-Capitalist lately.

My guess would be that he is against the Idea of assuming state power, but I'm just guessing. :)

Yeah the stuff they cover on their shows really is bullshit, their analysis of it however is the large majority of time spot on.

Like their episodes on Nasa, anything new age, war on drugs, the bible, boy scouts, 12 step program, wal-mart hatred, etc.
A couple times my ideas have been challenged, but they did such a good job illustrating I was wrong or misinformed I couldn't argue. Haven't seen any of the newer seasons though.

The Bullsh!t episodes I would absolutely reccommend:
1. Profanity (pro free speech argument, anti-FCC)
2. Recycling (how most recycling does little to nothing good for the environment, wastes tax money).
3. PETA (really deep digging into PETA's philosophy and financial support of Eco-terrorism).

I think a lot are Fun to watch but these really hit home on libertarian, individualism points. I own Season 2 & 4 I've only seen a couple from other seasons, I think all the ones I listed are from season 2. Some others I liked but weren't amazing were guns rights, prostitution, and the death penalty.

The episode on porn was fantastic, I have to say.
