Schiff Earns Spot on Primary Ballot
Best-selling Author Lauds Volunteers for Successful Statewide Efforts

MILFORD, CT - U.S. Senate candidate and economy expert Peter Schiff today announced he earned a spot on the August 10th Republican primary ballot. Schiff exceeded the 8,268 signatures required by state law and received confirmation from Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz.

"We are thrilled to hear the news that our efforts have proved successful," said Peter Schiff. "Connecticut Republicans now have a alternative: a wrestling promoter or a businessman and economist. Given the state of our economy, I think the choice is clear."

"I look forward to waging a competitive campaign and defeating Linda McMahon August 10th," Schiff added. "I am confident as voters learn more about me, they will like what they see and hear. From fighting to remove the government roadblocks preventing employers from creating jobs to keeping taxes low, I am the only one in the race with the skill-set necessary to help get our economy back on track."

A staunch believer that America can no longer borrow to live beyond its means, Schiff pledges to use expertise garnered from building a successful investment company to stop growing the government and start growing our economy.

We need to put together a money bomb asap!!!

i wonder how much money mcmahon is spending on keeping the news on her instead of her AND schiff. she will lose and i be very disappointed in herself for not supporting a much better candidate that could have won, peter schiff. if only peter lived in another state like new hampshire or something...go schiff though.

it will be an uphill battle that I think schiff can overcome. he has lots of time to do this.

Schiff can overcome this... but he has to pick up 35 points, so he'll need to either dump a huge amount of resources into the race, or run a direct-touch campaign.

I hate to say this, but I'll come clean... I'm surprised he made it. It seemed like the deck had really been stacked high.

My first suggestion is for the Connecticut Republicans to email their local GOP and request debates from McMahon and Schiff.

He really needs to win. Him and Rand would be an awesome duo in fixing our domestic fiscal policy immediately and promoting a transition in our insane foreign policy.

wow.. so they're trying to throw him off the ballot for accusations that he had some people who were out-of-staters help him gather signatures... -_-

Folks do you realize... there are only 100 senators. Within our lifetime, we have never seen a totally constitutional senator in office. The stakes are HUGE!!

This year we are not just talking about putting in ONE liberty senator... which hasn't been done in decades.... but possibly SEVERAL.

If you were to have Rand Paul, Peter Schiff, Mike Lee, Sharron Angle and Ken Buck in there, that is a considerable amount of power that could be deployed and really turn Washington on its ear. Even one senator can make a difference, but FIVE?

Of these, I think Rand and Peter are probably the ones we can count on most to preserve our message. This is huge... they are our big opportunities this year. Every resource we can channel into helping them is worth it.

"Connecticut Republicans now have a alternative: a wrestling promoter or a businessman and economist. Given the state of our economy, I think the choice is clear."

I'm not sure that comparing his business acumen to that of the McMahon's is a real good idea.

Regardless of politics, the McMahon's have built a huge and very successful company (WWE), far larger than Schiff's little brokerage house- by making this comparison, Schiff is just asking for a "Smackdown."

Maybe he should stick to issues?
