Wow!
What a day! We had over 55+ people of all ages; show up for our March! It went 3 miles and over two major highway overpasses! We even had an awesome drummer and huge moving truck painted in Ron Paul rEVOLution white on Red/Black.
On the way there my foot couldn't keep off the gas pedal as I cruised at 80 on 494 in my WRX STI, flashing down the road I pulled up to where the meetup group was and parked down the street. I was so happy to see 25 or so people waiting all with HUGE signs, and all sorts of ages and lots of dogs! (Sorry I didn't catch their names) We talked RP for awhile while the group started growing. Once we completely filled the parking lot we were meeting in we had a drummer start drumming the beginging of the PATRIOT MARCH song. and off we were.
There were all ages there, 65+ to what I estimate, less than 2 years old. I'm not an expert on dogs but we also had of those as well! we started marching towards 494 via Lyndale. as soon as we started off we started hearing honks. The coup de grace was when we were standing over 494.
I saw a guy one hand on the steering wheel and full upper torso; (Not a small feat on 494 @ 35W going 65 mph.) hanging out of the driver side window and from the over-pass heard...
"RON PAUL; HELL YEAH!" (He was screaming mightily loud for us to hear on the overpass)
Our group got numerous honks on the overpass giving us belief that RP2008 was alive in well in the Twin Cities!
We continued getting honks for 3 miles where we ended at 98th Street. We stood there until it was dark and continued to get honks and cheers from all manners of vehicles. It was great!
At the end of the day I personally met someone famous! :)
The guy who created TinyURL.com !
That was awesome! :)
Then on the way home I stopped at Champps Americana and ate; giving the guy a 10$ with my receipt and leaving a RP TAX FREE TIPS act for the bartender.
Now; I'm tired (As I haven't walked 3 miles I don't think ever) and having as much fun as one could in a day ready for some sleep!
Night all!
