View Full Version : Misinformation on NH Primary? It's not so bad...

There's been a lot of fuss the last couple of weeks over reports that the New Hampshire Republican Party had moved up the deadline for registration so as to minimize possible Ron Paul votes in that state's primary election. Turns out said reports may have been mistaken, and the agitation unnecessary (and counterproductive). According to this note (http://www.ronpaulhq.com/primary.php) at Ron Paul HQ (http://www.ronpaulhq.com), the "Unofficial New Hampshire Volunteer Headquarters": "... here in NH the rules have not changed."

"We were always a closed primary (must register as a Republican to vote in the primary). It is true that the date got announced only recently, but that is a function of the primary date being moved up due to other states trying to get an early primary."

However, "... independents can show up the day of the primary and change to Republican and vote (and change back after the vote). The Oct 12 deadline ONLY AFFECTS PEOPLE THAT ARE CURRENTLY REGISTERED AS DEMOCRATS. And in NH, since independents can vote in either primary, most folks are independents (around 43%). So a mountain has been made of a molehill. Only 26% of registered voters in NH are Democrats. It's possible we could win some of this 26% over (and have already), but we are more likely to get independent and Republican voters than the registered democrats. And we will have up until the day of the primary to do that. By all means, spread the word to your Democrat friends to switch parties to vote for Ron Paul. But please don't spread disinformation on the situation in NH." [emphasis added]

Unfortunately, while the Internet is a great information and organizing tool, Mark Twain's remark that "A lie will travel halfway around the world before the truth can get its boots on" is also even more true than ever.

Anyway, I'd say things still look good in New Hampshire, if the Revolution still has a chance to reach 74+% of registered voters up until the date of the primary. A win (or good showing) in New Hampshire, of course, is of inestimable value.

In any case, it is still a good idea to register Repub if you can, just in case they try to pull a fast one at the last minute.

pull a fast one? This is NH not NYC.

NH has for as long as anyone can remember had a hybrid primary, neither fully open or closed.

There is no way in hell even the most powerful of powerful within the NWO could pull off completely closing the NH primary between now and February.

Not yet. That's the plan.

Why the heck are you comparing INGSOC with the good people over at ronpaulhq.com?

What was posted on ronpaulhq.com is absolutely true -- nothing changed with NH's primary process, except the date to switch party affiliations was moved up in anticipation of an early primary date (likely to be early/mid December now).

The only thing more prevalent than conspiracy theories on this forum is 1984 quotes.

IF YOU ARE AN UNDECLARED VOTER YOU CAN STILL VOTE FOR RON PAUL in NH

Please!!! remind everyone there are over 70% of people in NH that can vote for the good DR! And remember, dems are dems for a reason in NH. They are Clinton loving commies..

BTW, I don't live in New Hampshire; I just ran into this and thought it was interesting. I'm in New Mexico, where the primary is next June -- more like when they ought to be, IMO. Thus I won't be registering (last time I voted was 1988 -- guess for whom?) until May -- I don't particularly care to be a "Republican" any longer than necessary. I suppose it'll all be decided by then anyway. "Interesting times".

I guess I was thinking more generally for all states. Just saying the less you have to rely on the integrity of the system, the better of you are going to be generally.

January (typo on my part), though they have the option to move it up to December.

But the some officials have come out and claimed they would not do that (though in politics that should mean very little :) :) )

Sorry I cant I have seen so much disinfo (not in this thread) that makes it sound like if you are not reg as a rep you can not vote in NH. We need to correct this.

We need more voices of reason and fewer ignorant rantings about conspiracies of whatever variety.

IMHO, there's nothing preventing them from later on trying to change it again to kick out independants so the only sure fire way to vote is to register Republican.

In a state that takes its first-in-the-nation status very seriously, where a plurality of the electorate is non-affiliated (independent), and the Legislature is not in session, it is IMPOSSIBLE to change the rules now and I would bet everything I own that it won't happen (and I am much smarter than George Stephanopolous).
