I didn't get a chance to watch Freedom Watch this past week, but I must say I was surprised to hear Palin speak this way on Marijuana. Now, she may have just been pandering to the audience of Freedom Watch, but it cannot be denied that, perhaps, Rand's victory in Kentucky and Ron's growing popularity may be effecting who she panders to and generally her political rhetoric.

I am not saying that Sarah Palin is going to be the next voice of the Liberty movement, but her friendliness to our movement is definitely a benefit, given the size of her following.

Any thoughts?

She won't legalize it "for the children".

Sounds like a tired liberal line to me.

She said she does not want marijuana to be legalized. How does that have anything to do with liberty? She just pandered around the issue so she wouldn't sound too harsh towards the marijuana issue.

Sarah Palin, who would love to attract the Ron Paul constituency if she runs for dictator, says:

"I’m not for the legalization of pot. I think that would just encourage our young people to think that it was OK to go ahead and use it. However, I think we need to prioritize our law enforcement efforts. If somebody’s gonna smoke a joint in their house and not do anybody any harm, then perhaps there are other things our cops should be looking at to engage in and try to clean up some of the other problems we have in society."

So, she seems to favor some drug-law reform, while actually endorsing the drug war. By such comments she hopes to neutralize, and win over, the growing anti-drug war movement among even Republicans. Need I mention that Ron Paul has been fighting the totalitarian drug war for decades, really fighting it, not pretend-fighting it?

My sentiments exactly. She is still a dumb bitch, typical pandering politician, that is for the drug war. I'm not interested in supporting shallow fakes.

She's your typical politician trying to win over both sides....

"Let's not legalize it, that's bad for the kids... but instead of arresting casual smokers, perhaps cops should focus on other problems in society"

What's that even supposed to mean? She wants to get into the gray area of decriminalizing but still prohibiting it?

Choose a side Palin....you can either choose your typical republican party, or the freedom movement. You can't have both.

Palin is a statist neocon drug warrior. She doesn't believe that it should be legal for individuals to smoke a plant. Fuck her in the neck.
