All worked out. If your caught on a problem and think it solved bring in another shade tree mechanic. I was fixated on the park/neutral sensor. A friend brought me back to square one. Turned out to be a faulty battery connector. Replaced it and polished all the connections to the starter, plus dielectric grease at every connection solved it. For my part there was still a 50/50 ratio on starts. Wouldn't turn in park 50% of the time but started in Neutral 100%.

Human nature to focus on a past bad problem than maybe a simple one in the here and now.
