Better be a hit. That was one of the best grouping of individuals I've ever seen on one show on the same day period.

Plus lets face it. the Judge is very smart.

This show needs to be moved from FBN to Fox mainstream media. Needs to be there between Glan and Hannutty.

According to this: Mr. Napolitano seems to be part of a retooling at Fox Business, which started in 2007 as a competitor to CNBC. Fox Business, which has had trouble finding a loyal audience, does not subscribe to full Nielsen ratings. Saying it has had a “horrible time getting ratings,” Mr. Press said, “I think they’ve just decided to make it the second propaganda channel.”

Well if FBN keeps this up it will gain an audience. They have Stossel and Freedom Watch so far. With a couple more good programs it could easily be something to watch regularly. They need to rename the business aspect of it. like maybe "FOX Freedom".

I sure hope it's a hit. I thought it was a fabulous hour of television, well deserving of a prime timeslot and a bump up to the regular FOX lineup.

Ratings

On January 4, 2008, the New York Times, and several other media outlets that day, reported that FBN had registered an average of 6,300 viewers, far below Nielsen's 35,000-viewer threshold. The number was so low that neither Nielsen nor FBN were allowed to confirm the number.[23] The Times and other media outlets noted the network is less than four months old and only in one-third as many households as is CNBC.

In July 2008, Nielsen estimated that FBN averaged 8,000 viewers per daytime hour and 20,000 per prime time hour, compared to 284,000 and 191,000 (respectively) for CNBC. Because FBN's viewership remained low, Nielsen had difficulty estimating viewership, and the estimates are not statistically significant. At the time FBN was available in approximately 40 million homes to CNBC's over 90 million.[24]

As of fall 2008, FBN was losing to CNBC in the ratings by over 10 to 1.[25][26]

The latest numbers available, from June 2009, showed FBN with an average of 21,000 viewers between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m., still under the Nielsen threshold, and less than 10% of CNBC's 232,000 for the same time span. At this point, FBN was available in about 49 million U.S. homes.[27]

Reports of ratings from the first episode of Imus in the Morning reported an average of 177,000 viewers (and a peak of 202,000 in the 7:00 a.m. hour) in the time slot, mostly over the age of 65; this was a more than tenfold increase compared to the network's previous morning show, Money for Breakfast. The program even beat CNBC's Squawk Box in the time slot.[28]

YouTube - Freedom Watch - The Judge,Ron Paul And Sarah Palin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-BHZOGInwM&feature=related) (8,319 views)

Youtube numbers are not saying much - a BUNCH of people posted it, some have thousands of views, some have hundreds. Just considering the YouTube audience, they had a lot better viewership than their average day.

hmmm... more useful. Lots of reports of FBN's video feed having problems due to overload.

Reports: Ramsey Out, Bolling In at FBN
By Alex Weprin on Jun 08, 2010 01:39 PM

Ramsey060810.jpg Fox Business Network is continuing to change up its programming lineup, according to a pair of reports today. The latest is from Wall St. Cheat Sheet, which reports that FBN is dropping Dave Ramsey and his eponymous primetime show. The move is surprising, seeing as his show was one of the network's early successes, as we reported.

So who will replace Ramsey at 8 p.m.? Talking Biz News reports that former "Happy Hour" co-host Eric Bolling will be taking over the primetime slot with his own show starting June 21.

FBN is also adding a weekend show from Fox News analyst Andrew Napolitano, and just yesterday premiered a new afternoon program with former CNN anchor Gerri Willis.

Update: FBN has made it official, Bolling's new show is called "Money Rocks."

FBN Embracing Its Inner Libertarian
By Alex Weprin on Jun 14, 2010 10:11 AM

Napolitano061410.jpg It looks like executives at Fox Business Network are taking our advice. A few weeks ago we wrote that in order for FBN to succeed:

It needs to offer a product that is substantively different than what the sister network offers. This is something CNBC and MSNBC do very well, and FBN and Fox News do not.

Today, the New York Times' Brian Stelter notes that FBN has been adding a few libertarian voices to its lineup in the form of Andrew Napolitano and John Stossel.

Stelter also spoke to liberal commentator Bill Press, who quipped about FBN: "I think they've just decided to make it the second propaganda channel."

That comment drew a rebuke from FBN, after the jump.

An FBN spokesperson gave one of Fox's typically snarky responses to Talking Biz News:

If anyone is familiar with being a ratings killer it's Bill Press who hasn't been able to maintain a steady hosting job on television since being dumped by CNN in 2002 and having his show canceled by MSNBC in 2003.

Just watched it.... a few points:

- When Sarah was rambling on about Israel they cut to a shot with Ron rolling his eyes. I almost fell out of my chair I was laughing so hard.

- It's hard to take her seriously knowing that she supported the bailouts. Although she did earn some points back with me when she used the phrase "lamestream media".

- The segment with Governor Rendell made me want to punch the screen.

- I practically tuned out during the segment with DeMint, Armey, and Bachman.

- The Judge needs to structure things a bit better, either having less people on at once, or better management or something. He is just a bit too hyper. I realize he is trying to keep it fast paced, but I think he should allow for just a bit more than than his guests to only create a soundbite.

Just my $.02. I can't wait for more shows when hopefully we'll fill it with a bit more staunch limited-government guests.
