The source article doesn't even talk about Paul, I don't think he was even included. Very familiar.

I still have no idea why this guy is so popular; he's basically a liberal who's pro-war with a few conservative-social issues thrown in.....the fact he put in place a healthcare plan similar to the one just put in place nationally...should instantly turn away any conservative....but it doesn't.

He's rich, good-looking and has a professional demeanor about him. Unfortunately, public opinion tends to align more with American Idol judges than anyone that cares about actual policies.

Ron wasn't included and the last PPP poll of Iowa had GARY JOHNSON not Ron Paul. And looking at the SRLC ballots first and second choices, GJ does NOT have a lock on the RP vote, if that is what they were trying to test.

Answers in bold. He is also corporate/Wall St. friendly. It all adds up to positive exposure by the mainstream media.

Romney is considered highly religous and of great moral character, this resonates with a lot of religious conservatives and neocons.

They just don't want Ron Paul no matter how many polls he wins, or how popular he is, or how many young people he brings to the party.
They want a mainstream republican RINO.
We are going to have to win this thing in spite of what the gop wants.

Except when Manchurian Mitt was running BAIN Capital or reaping the benefits from the stock... no mention of destroying companies, golden parachutes, shaking every nickle out of company savings and over funded pensions.

Then afterward... shutting down the industry, layoffs, and shipping the biz overseas

Anyhoo... it's a poll by NEWSMAX aka NEOCONIS MAXIMUS.

Yep I don't like him I am just saying what neocons and social conservatives think about him. He comes off as religious and principled. As long as people believe it that is all that matters.

Mitt Romney will make one of the greatest presidents in history, if not the greatest.

You guys just don't get it.

See Romney's a Mormon, and Mormons have an amazing powerful secret: magic holy Mormon underwear.:eek::eek: Romney's magic underwear IS the ONLY way to put America back on the path to prosperity! His stylish hair won't hurt either, just think of how jealous other countries will be of how good how leader looks!

He has also become pro-life.

He believes in the right to keep and bear arms.

He stands ready with the courage and conviction to double Guantanamo while everyone else opposes him. He has so much courage he can make the wrong decision while everyone tells him its the wrong decision.

He knows who let the dogs out.

He knows how to transport a dog even if your car is full on the inside.

He knows who said what when and where.

Firm supporter of the Patriot Act and civil liberties.

Vows to repeal Obamacare.

Vows to get us on Romneycare.

Saved the Olympics.

Saved the Olympics. Its really important you know he saved the Olympics.

Supports the Department of Education.

Seriously how do you guys NOT get why Romney is one of the greatest leaders in history?!:eek:

I do not believe the Mormons wanting a Mormon candidate regardless of his policies (just like allot of people wanted Obama for the sake of having a black President regardless of his policies) could account for all of this.

I also do not believe people could be that clueless considering mandatory health care Romneys background is more closely aligned with the Democrats and has been resoundly rejected the Tea Parties and mainstream Republicans.

That leaves open the very strong possibility that this is all being rigged in favor of Romney.

If Romney wins the nomination in 2012, I'll probably quit the Republican party for good and register Libertarian....I'm still registered republican for the mean time. (basically just to vote for Ron in the primaries)

Romney is insane and would be just as bad as Obama....atleast if Obama won re-election, republicans could win it back in 2016 and elect someone good. If romney gets put in in 2012, democrats take over again in 2016 and we have to wait 'til 2020. Pathetic.

Ron Paul got 10% in '08 and led among Independents, even though most of them voted in the Democratic caucus. In 2012, those Independents that preferred Paul over the other GOP candidates will have no Democratic caucus to vote in, which can only help Ron Paul's performance.

Thats a very good point. I hadn't thought about that, but you're right. And some dem's may even register republican and vote for Ron Paul if they're unhappy with Obama.

Lookie at who's organizing PACS for IOWA and NH... Pawlenty So it look's like Romney and Pawlenty are in the running for at least IOWA and NH.

Also... Romney donating to the reelection of IOWA governor.

Pawlenty sets up state PACs in Iowa and New Hampshire

By Michael O'Brien - 06/16/10 07:34 AM ET
Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) established political action committees (PACs) on Wednesday in the key primary states of Iowa and New Hampshire to aid candidates for state office.

The PACs are just the latest sign that the Minnesota Republican is building up the kind of political infrastructure needed to wage a bid for the GOP presidential nomination in 2012.

Pawlenty registered state versions of his Freedom First PAC to help candidates in this fall's elections, believed to be a first-of-its-kind move by a potential presidential candidate in Iowa.

"These state PACs will allow Tim Pawlenty and his supporters to better help local candidates in the critical 2010 elections," said Alex Conant, a spokesman for the governor. "Both states trended toward the Democrats in recent years, but hold great opportunities for conservative candidates this fall."

Establishing PACs is often an important tool in building political alliances and forging relationships that can lead to valuable endorsements during a primary process. Pawlenty's move could help build some grassroots support among state lawmakers in Iowa, which hosts the nation's first nominating contest in 2012, and New Hampshire, which traditionally holds the second contest.

Newspapers in both states pointed out that Pawlenty isn' the only one playing in the nominating states, though. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R), another potential 2012 candidate who ran for president in 2008, has written a check to support former Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad's (R) bid to retake the governorship, the Des Moines Register noted (http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20100616/NEWS09/6160368/1007/NEWS05/Pawlenty-s-PAC-to-aid-Iowa-Republicans). The Manchester, N.H., Union Leader reports (http://www.unionleader.com/article.aspx?headline=Pawlenty+forms+PAC+for+NH+ca ndidates&articleId=6230d8b3-ee6a-4428-871f-d5ed04536b31) that Romney also registered his Free and Strong America PAC in New Hampshire last year.

But for observers looking to read the tea leaves for signs that Pawlenty is running, Conant maintained that a decision is still well down the line.

"As for what happens after the midterm elections, the governor's said he'll decide what to do next in early 2011," he said.
Democrats wasted no time on Wednesday ridiculing the move
"It's nice that Tim Pawlenty has found a way to help politicians from other states who can help his political ambitions. Too bad he couldn't do the same for the families of Minnesota who he was elected to serve with his draconian budget cuts," said Democratic National Committee national press secretary Hari Sevugan. "It looks like if you want Tim Pawlenty to work for you these days, you need to live in Iowa or New Hampshire, not Minnesota."
