Gibbons has her own theory about why one time frontrunner Sue Lowden's campaign deflated Tuesday. When Lowden was chairman of the Nevada Republicans, she prevented then-presidential candidate Ron Paul from speaking at the state convention. Libertarians have been mad at her ever since. "Those Ron Paul people were upset with her. That came out in the election because those are the people that remembered and this was their time to get even," Gibbons said.

Heh heh! Nevada continues to deliver... I was thrilled to hear she got defeated. :)

Edit: They don't explain how she actually shut the convention down because they were losing... kind of a big issue!

Hush up and bring us some cookies, first lady. Ron Paul spoke, and in fact, Lowden was originally one of the most receptive GOP leaders in the country. It was the whole "stealing the ballot box and shutting the lights off" that ticked them off.

Uh, actually, Ron DID speak. It was the state GOP fleeing the convention to shut it down when they didn't have votes to recess it and stop Ron Paul DELEGATES from being overwhelmingly elected that was the problem.
