This is a tread were there will be no bashing of anyone. It is intended to be a tread to discuss what is going on with earthquakes that are gaining in intensity.

EQ stands for Earthquake.

I am suggesting we have not seen anything yet on what is coming up shortly.

This is one of the sites to keep your eyes on.

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/quakes_all.php

This is the one to check each day and hit the animate button at the top.

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsanim/

The oldest day drops off.

More on my thoughts later.

Here is what I have experienced since the Easter Sunday earthquake in Baja CA at 7.3.

I was at the computer that day waiting until it was time to leave for Easter Dinner with 12 people. I got sick to my stomach and dizzy and thought I was ready to have a stroke. I felt the EQ and when we got together with the rest, one had their pool with waves and the other was on a third story building feeling the quake in Phoenix.

Since that time, I keep getting ear tones from a screaming to a dropping to very low tones. I keep getting the sick feeling and I check the EQ drum and sure enough the needle is going nuts.

Any other people going through the same experience out there?

One other thing, I feel like the earth is in motion sometimes when I stand. My wife has also been watching this taking place.

what I would really like to see (and am too lazy/busy to put one together myself, is the number of earthquakes per 7 day period this year compared to the same last year and 5 years ago.

Sarge

I agree it would be interesting to see that comparison. Not sure where one would start to find that out.

It just might look like a hockey stick. Smile.

I looked at the USGS site this am. and most are in bold letters today. A 6.0 late last night.

"Big Bear City Seismic Swarm Update: San Jacinto Fault Stress Spreading Out

June 09, 2010, 07:56:50 PM

by Frank Condon
Hello all:

An increasing number of micro quakes have been epicentered close to two major faults. The Northern Frontal Thrust Fault where it is intersected by the Helendale Fault appears to be the most affected location related to the current Shear Stress sequence. There continues to be a significant amount of lithospheric stress now building in the region from Borrego Springs to Lucerne Valley, CA. The shear Zone between the Anza Seismic Gap and Mt San Gorgonio is attempting to keep the level in check.

Another surge in Upper Level Shear Stress was detected between 02:00 and 03:00 (UT) on June 8, 2010. There have been no high amplitude Remote MT Trigger Pulses detected since June 3, 2010 at 17:00 to 18:00 (UT). It would be wise to be aware for something of significance to occur in this region possibly right before the New Moon arrives on June 12, 2010.

Salton Sea has a fault going under the Sea and down to where the EQ happened.

The Salton Sea might be were the major one happens. Most think up to LA. I am wondering if down likewise due to all the Baja CA. EQ'S. When the ground turns to liquid the Sea may run South with a large EQ. Just thinking out loud. The EQ map shows it starting at the Salton Sea and going to LA.

Here is the shake out map showing it starting from the Salton Sea and moving to LA.

My concern is with all the Baja EQ'S it might also fracture on the S. side. What do I know, just watching and giving my input from months of watching and running the daily EQ animation.

Time will tell. Better to keep an eye on things and be safe.

Maybe crude oil is the lubricant for the tectonic plates, I don't know.

Sarge
06-12-2010, 04:16 PM
You are correct from my understanding. Sometimes water can also have that effect.

The oil is what helps the plates to slip easier. Take away the oil and the quakes might be much larger in magnitude in the future.

Thanks for these updates, Sarge!

USGS: 5.5 magnitude earthuake strikes Canada
[Updatd at 2:16 p.m.] The quake struck at 1:41 p.m. near the borders of Ontario and Quebec provinces, the USGS said.
It was about 12 miles deep.

[Updated at 2:15 p.m.] CNN affiliate WDIV in Detroit, Michigan is reporting tremors were felt in the metro area of Detroit.

Other tremors have reportedly been felt in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Cleveland, Ohio.

CNN affiliate WFSB in Hartford, Connecticut reported that some residents in Connecticut felt shaking. CNN affiliate WMUR in Manchester, New Hampshire reported that residents in New Hampshire also felt the tremors.

[Posted at 2:10 p.m.] An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.5 struck Wednesday in southern Canada, the U.S. Geological Survey reported Wednesday.

I do hope all on that felt the quake will complete the survey on the USGS site. It lets them know the true extent of the impact. That makes for better forecasts.

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Maps/10/285_45.php

I was sitting at my desk and my monitor started shaking. And my legs were vibrating and I was like, "What the hell?" I noticed a plant shaking but it was near the window so I looked at one in another spot and it was shaking. I thought, "Holy crap! I think this is an earthquake!" I had the kids turn off the tv and stand real still and stuff was shaking all over. Not enough to move anything but definitely enough to see/feel. Maybe lasted 30-45 seconds. Called someone who watches this sort of thing and she said it wasn't on the web yet but sure enough, I posted to facebook and then the posts and tweets were coming left and right.

The USGS site said 5.5 but Vermont Public Radio said 5.0.

Very exciting!

eta thanks for the heads up on the survey. I just took it and posted to fb so others could fill it out, too.

MelissaWV

It was a strange earthquake. My sister in Buffalo was home alone with her two kids and the 1.5 year old stood up in his bed saying "What's that?!?!" She grabbed him and headed for a doorway only to find my niece had already braced in one, too :D

Significant shaking.

(Yes, I had a talk with her about not using a doorway and being more concerned with getting towards the exterior areas of a building and finding a potential triangle of safety.)

Here is the site,

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/us2010xwa7.php#maps

One of them is did you feel it. Tell us.

As for the Triangle of safety, my understanding is any area that could form a triangle. Like not under the desk but buy the side of the desk so if anything falls it hits the top of the desk and makes a triangle.

Don't get under beds or desks but buy the side of couches desks or sturdy things if you can't get out of a building. Think side of a marble breakfast bar or counters that are sturdy.

They use to say get under and changed their minds. CA people might have much more input.

On another note my ears are ringing non stop and I am getting that motion feeling.

4.0 in So. CA. Keep alert as we come up to the full moon on the 26th.

Some are saying Canada might get a few more shortly along that 1,700 mile fault line that runs all the way to the gulf in LA from Canada.

MelissaWV
06-24-2010, 11:41 AM
What is a triangle of safety?

A pseudo-debunked methodology, I'll admit, but far better in most buildings than standing in a doorway. My sister's doorways, in particular, would be more likely to fall the hell apart than anything.

Anyhow, the theory is that being near a large object that will compress (but not completely crush down) is safest. You also want to be towards the edges of a building, preferably. The reason for the former is that if the building begins to collapse in, a wall or rubble is more likely to press up against that large object and create a mostly-triangular pocket of air. Objects like couches are usually used as examples, or even beds. The reason for the latter is that if the building actually collapses there will be a rescue attempt. If you rush to the middle of a large building, you're more likely to be more deeply buried, and it will take longer for rescuers to find you.

Even though the "experiment" that was run to arrive at the conclusions was ridiculous and wrong, the findings make a great deal of sense. There's a lot of randomness to earthquakes, but someone is inevitably found in an air pocket of some kind, and usually towards the outer edges of buildings. The doorway thing doesn't seem to pass a common sense test, especially in most of the apartment buildings I've seen. Bracing in that fashion also leaves your most vital body parts unprotected, so if something does fall on you, or swing towards you, it's likely to hit in a way to cause damage. I'd rather curl up in a fetal position next to something sturdy and hope for the best.

Thank you M.

Good explanation on the air pocket and not doorways.

On June 26, 2010, there is an extraordinary planetary constellation, a Grand Cross. This will have 4 planets at odds. With a full moon and eclipse the gravity pull is likely to be major over the next several days. Just saying, all on the West Coast and that includes NV, CA, AZ, UT and all States N. Same for the Canada to LA fault.

The gulf oil situation isn't helping.

Check out the USGS animation map each day. It updates daily and gives you a clue what is going on.

Is there talk of "where" this giant earthquake will occur in California? I mean, when we think of earthquakes - we think the big one in "california", but when we hear about them - it never comprises such land masses. So, is it gonna be near los angeles, like near Santa Monica etc..? lol

Sarge

Good question. Not sure anyone can answer that one. One of my early posts showed the latest shock wave study from the Salton Sea to LA. The way the EQ's are swarming by S. CA and Baja it might well start there.

Throw in SF somewhere. Just as likely the Utah fault.

I am watching this one daily for clues,

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsanim/

Hit the animate button. It updates daily and drops the oldest day off.

I also am not ruling out the Madrid fault in the mid west. IL, AR and Missouri up to Canada and South could get active. Being in AZ, I am more worried about the West Coast as it is looking the most unstable right now.

A 7.2 in LA or SF, like Baja had, is likely going to be a big problem. Move LA or SF 10 feet and see what happens.

If NY was to get a 7.2 when they don't build for EQ'S I will leave the rest to your imagination.

The key is have an action plan. ie turn off gas if it happens, flashlights, place to meet etc.

We have a full lunar event July 11th coming up vs. the partial Sat.

An interesting read about what is coming up on August 1st. It hasn't happened for thousands of years.

http://seekingalpha.com/author/hewitt-heiserman/instablog

No matter what one might think, try bunching all the plants in a small space and guess what might happen.

Keep your eyes open if people behave weird. Many people could get dizzy when they stand up etc. I do think many will notice changes in people during the next couple of months.

I hate earthquakes, been through enough of them to know that for a certainty.

Anything over a 2 will wake me up. Most people who live in earthquake "zones" where 3+ earthquakes are "common," will sleep through a 3 pointer.

Charleston SC is a problem area, and we have felt quakes up here in Charlotte from time to time, very small ones tho..

Things that make one wonder. They show no EQ's in New Mexico for the last eight days on USGS main site.

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/quakes_all.php

Take a look at June 30th on down from the New Mexico site. I use that date for a whole day picture. The first one makes one wonder.

http://www.ees.nmt.edu/Geop/eworm-heli//

Caution some can be mining operations but, I doubt all the locations are from mining.

This person has been pretty good on their calls,

"July 4: A moderate earthquake can be seen on this date along the pacific coasts, most likely to be in the 6-7 range. Damages if any should be on the low side, but this date is still worth mentioning.

July 9: The most Earthquake-favoring day this month. A good likelihood for a major magnitude 7-8 earthquake exists due to the lone nature of this intense looking date. It is the only day of mention between the 4th and the 13th, so it is a good set up for a sudden event (earthquake). All people in earthquake zones along the Pacific American coastline as well as Indonesia should be aware this day.

July 13: This day has a slightly higher risk for a strong magnitude 6-7 earthquake than July 4th. there is a chance that this event could be an aftershock of whatever happens on the 9th."

A bunch of other people, on different sites are calling for this likewise in the next two weeks including,

Quake prediction site

"4.6 to 5.2 earthquake is likely in NW California: June 30 - July 2.
5.8 to 6.4 earthquake is possible in the San Francisco Bay area: July 3-6."

He has not been as accurate in my opinion. I post it as he is saying the same.

Keep aware in case they are right. My ears are humming.

My ears are humming. Is that like my joints hurting before a big front comes in? Seriously.....? I had a dog that would act oddly shortly before a quake would hit.....

Right you are on the animals. From what i read they sense the electrical waves before the eq.

Many people do report certain parts of their body hurting prior to quakes. Ear tones are big for many prior to large quakes.

I feel like I am sick to my stomach right now along with the humming ears. I am guessing the activity is getting ready to pick up this pm.

They have not reported anything of merit for so long they have almost lost it all. I can find out more on the web faster.

Boards are so ahead of the MSM it makes the head spin.

They are, in my opinion, keeping the numbers down so people don't freak out. Keep an eye on the animation each day. That gives a better but, not perfect picture of what is going on each week.

Now they just deleted the LA earthquake. What a joke. From a 2.7 to gone.

Just saying,

http://www.spaceweather.com/

Not what we need with a major solar eclipse this weekend. It is turning towards the earth and that is not what we want right now. Increased pressure on the earth and the potential to fry electronics if the flare is large enough.

People might want to wake up that times are different right now.

West Coast, Madrid Fault AR, IL etc. might want to be aware.

West Coast includes Montana, Utah, NV, AZ and West.

Look at it this way, if nothing happens great. If it does, and you are aware and have an action plan, even better.

Seeing a bunch of people talking about it is right now. They are feeling like a big one is coming.

My ears are screaming and, I don't get head aches and, have had three pains over my left eye with change in ear tones in the last hour.

It is getting to that time of the day for the West Coast to start rumbling. Here is the list so far today.

Making an observation. The EQ shake model shows the big one starting from the right of the Salton Sea. I am wondering if it start starts from the left at Baja, Mexico and moves up to LA due to all the after shocks?

Not an expert, just giving some input to what I have been watching for a few months. If it rips from both sides it is going to be bad. Several are talking about a big one moving right up all the faults.

Some feel Madrid Fault in AR, IL up to CA gets hit first. Who cares who is first? Just be paying attention this weekend.

I guess they all took off for the world cup yesterday. I kept wondering why there were no EQ's reported in 5 hours.

6.2 in Chile took 16 hours to read and report? Then they log it in fior the wrong day.

The bottom 7 earthquakes should have been put under the 11th not today.

NAU drum going crazy and USGS not reporting a thing.

Any shaking in CA?

No reports of EQ's for 7 hours or more. Yep, sure.

Coming up to that time of day.

Anyone not paying attention just might want to pay attention.

NAU drum all over the place again tonight. Not sure if this is gulf testing or what. There were big ones today.

http://seismicwebcam.glg.nau.edu/CgiStart?page=Single&Language=0

This will record until noon the next day live.

Check some of these and see the lag time on reporting,

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/quakes_all.php

This is a national site and should not have mega hours lapses in reporting.

Example, look at the time of the EQ and the time when reported.

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/ci10752125.php

This is the one to keep an eye on daily. Hit the animate button. I don't think it is corrupted yet.

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsanim/

Gang, all might want to check daily. Things are not right on the reporting.

Yesterday the NAU drum went bonkers. Tonight it starts early again. Just saying ignore at your own risk. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what is going on with the last chart. Remember thousands have been deleted as it updates and drops off the oldest date.

Be safe.

Deborah,

Good for you. Better to be aware. Stay safe.

I wish I could say better. I still feel like we are in for a big one. I had a major ear pop in the middle of last night. Ears ringing this am. My wife and I were both up and down last night.

We have been very lucky that most of the big pops are out of the Country right now. Bio Chile getting pounded with large EQ's.

Several boards are talking about the ear tones and low rumbling sounds they are hearing. To me it sounds like a fast moving river, with a low rumble, under the ground. I don't hear it all the time but, it kicks in and I look for a recent big EQ.

Sarge

Putting this here to remind me of the dates.

" August 6-7, 2010: A cardinal grand cross is formed, involving Jupiter-Uranus in Aries, Pluto in Capricorn, the Moon in early Cancer, and Venus joining Mars and Saturn in early Libra. The Sun at 15° Leo makes stressful aspects to the entire grand cross. Calm and balance will be needed to deal with the relentless stressful aspects."

Some say once in a lifetime event. Might produce some big EQ's around those dates.

All N. or S. of the Salton Sea might want to be paying attention. Hit the animate button.

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsanim/iv/

The fault on the E. side at Bombay Beach goes under the sea S. to about where the lower EQ's are taking place. One of my first threads shows the EQ shake map starting at the Salton Sea and going N. to LA.

If there is a quake large enough to displace 10 feet under the sea it is not going to be pretty. If I were living in Brawley or near there. on the S. end, I would be on the horn talking to people. Note were the fault picks up on the S. end of the sea.

I am no expert, just using my eyes and senses and watching. They had earth movement with the Easter quake. I sure wouldn't like to see the Salton Sea dumping into the gulf.

Bottom line is have an action plan and if in the Western States, have some critical supplies ready.

Note, Jellystone Park has been acting up this week. That is a Super Volcano in case anyone want to know. Not saying that is getting ready to go but, if one of the major faults lets rip who knows.

URGENT: QUITO, Ecuador -- A magnitude-6.9 earthquake has shaken the South American nation of Ecuador, but there are no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The 6:54 a.m. quake was felt in the nation's capital, Quito.

Some of the folks in Christchurch noticed the day before the earthquake hit, lots of earthworms came to the surface as the temperature changes in the soil. There were also some beached whales not far away and some think this is a warning also. I guess if you are aware enough, you can read the signs in nature. There was also a strong smell of sulphur..eerie.
We live in "The Shaky Isles" and seismologists are saying this is the biggest since 1931. (

I am getting concerned. Note the 4.0 in the Gulf of CA.

There was also the large one by the fault line near Mexico City today. Throw in a few Baja, CA ones and some in Central CA. While not large yet it is a trend. CA has been very lucky but, if we start seeing large ones moving up the fault line in the Gulf of CA, it could pop a major fault or fault lines.

Note the above picture and also note the SAF to the East of the Salton Sea. One or both letting go at the same time could be a major hit all the way to LA.

Yes people were shocked during our big one here recently at their level of unpreparedness. Flat batteries in torches and radios and no water supplies. Having water on hand is crucial. They had busted water mains and sewage and couldn't get to the shops cos the roads were impassable.

Hope you caught some fish you could dessicate Sarge. Part of me says when your number is up, it is up but there's no harm in taking wise precautions.

You are right on the emergency supplies and not getting caught off guard. I would bet that water and gas will be a big problem if CA gets one with earth movement of several feet. If they get 22 miles of splitting in the wrong area it could get wild.

When I looked at the US animation again this am., Alaska stuck out on the increase in quakes on the ring of fire. If those quakes move around towards Canada and down the West Coast is in for it.

*** Press Release for September 21, 2010 Warning ***

An Urgent Warning of Massive Earthquakes above Magnitude 8.0 to 9.x and a new Tsunami in September-October 2010

by Hans Lehner, President of the ISQP / ISQR
Singapore, September 16, 2010/HL - LINK TO MORE DATA

Under the regime of Newton’s and Einstein’s Theory of Gravitation, which is in need of revision, it was not possible to give out earthquake warnings for a specific period of time or an area. The only assumptions that counted were gravity and the mass attraction of the stars, Sun, Moon, and Earth.

Since Hans Lehner, President and CEO of Institute for Space Quantum Physics & Research in Neuhaus/Switzerland, first described the effects of the newly discovered Supernova energy and declared this the 5th basic physical force, massive earthquakes with a magnitude of 8.0 to 9.x on the Richter scale can be accurately calculatet and predicted in advance in terms of time and place. Underwater earthquakes above a magnitude of 8.0 cause Tsunamis.

“The earthquakes in Haiti on January 12 were only the beginning of a series of massive earthquakes and Tsunamis in this year,” stated Hans Lehner, president of the IRQF Institute for Space Quantum Research headquartered in Jona, Switzerland, in March 2010. For the last three years, this institute has dealt with the effects of planetary constellations on the Earth. When these come together in specific formations (if, for example, Saturn-Sun-New Moon-Earth and Uranus are found on a common line or axis), it is possible to calculate the cosmic gravitation pressure on a specific region of the Earth. To describe this in figurative terms: The rotating crust of the Earth – similar to a soccer ball being pressed and rolled by a foot – is briefly squashed to a baseball – which subsequently causes massive vertical motions in the Earth’s crust and thus releases strong earthquakes.

“The 8 planets are never included in the calculations made by seismologists; the assumption is that they are too far from the Earth and the ‘attracting’ gravitational effect through them is meaningless,” emphasizes Hans Lehner.
“Corrections to the theoretical principles in the areas of gravitation, cosmology, geophysics, and seismology were absolutely necessary. And with the new, specialized computer programs, we now have the instruments for exact earthquake warnings. Measures can be taken in advance to limit damage and save the lives of many people.”

Massive Earthquake and Tsunami Danger in September-October 2010

Already in this year, two major catastrophes (Haiti on January12 with a magnitude of 7.0) and Chile (February 27 with a magnitude of 8.8 and subsequent Tsunami along the Chilean coast) have already taken place. And just in the period between February 22 and March 5, 2010, the American Agency for Earthquake Statistics recorded 20 major quakes with magnitudes between 6.0 and 8.8 in the equatorial region after a Jupiter-Sun-Earth-full Moon constellation, emphasizes Lehner.

A much more dangerous constellation (Uranus-Jupiter-full Moon-Earth-Sun-Saturn on one line or axis) will occur again in the period from September 21 to 23, 2010. “There will be the strongest imaginable earthquakes in the Equatorial region, because the large planets Jupiter and Saturn in addition will show their shielding effect and briefly shift the Earth’s crust by 90 degrees through a maximum gravitational pressure to squish it to just this kind of baseball,” warns the IFQF urgently.

EARTHQUAKE WARNING FOR THE MOST SEVERE EARTHQUAKES ABOVE THE MAGNITUDES 6.0 - 9.x

OOPS I spoke to soon about Canterbury..still rocking and rollign:
http://nz.news.yahoo.com/a/-/mp/7970896/quake-tonight-at-10-32/

YIKES thats an interesting article. I have a gut feeling that we are on a roll also Sarge hehe...mine's a gut feeling not based on science.
How come you are so into earthquakes Sarge? You may have said why on this thread but i its too long to trawl.

What's the worst one you have been in? I lived in Wellington for a while and we had frequent earthquakes there, complete with that scary rumble and atmospheric pressure changes that wake you up before the event. You feel so helpless when it begins.
My scariest earthquake was one in LA. I was there in transit for one night 10 stories up in a hotel and the lights began swaying and the whole bloody place swayed, then jolted. I was there alone and didn't know a soul in L.A. and broke all the rules, ran along the corridor (right next to zillions of plate glass windows that would have chopped me to bits if it had been a really big one); I was still in my night attire, but did that bother me? No. Then i got in the elevator (duh, well it had stopped shaking by then and i couldn't find the staircase:o)

There was this laconic black doorman guy leaning against a wall, laughing at me and shaking his head. That kinda brought me back to my senses. But all night i had nightmares about being trapped in damaged buildings. I've given L.A. a wide berth since then. Don't mind transiting but i'll not spend another night there OH NO! Not for all the tea in china i wouldn't!

I guess its even ten times freakier if you don't have someone to debrief with.

Sorry for the delay in responding and that you are getting hit with quakes again

The you tube was talking about a quake in the PHILIPPINES from a sunspot. They have had two today so far. A bunch of quakes averaging at or close to 5.0 today. The you tube was then talking about a quake hitting CA from another sun spot CME potential.

Why my interest in quakes? After the Easter Sunday quake of 7.2 shook our condo in Phoenix, and my desk chair was rolling across the tile with me in it, I have been watching since.

If So. CA rips a big one I have no doubt we are going to feel it here again. Also, I am wishing people would wake up that the West Coast is becoming more active. Not just my words.

People on the West Coast ought to be checking this map daily. Note Alaska and how the quakes are moving around towards Canada also,

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsanim/

CA and NV might want to keep an eye on this animation,

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsanim/canv/

Try to figure out where the fault lines are in relation to where you live and if you start to see an increase in quakes.

I can see a pattern potential of a quake moving right up the coast under the right conditions when I run the USA animation. Actually to quakes one on the ocean side fault and one up Medord N. It might be years or sooner. I am thinking sooner from my watching since Easter.

Stay safe in NZ.

Sarge

West Coast and New Madrid area might want to stay alert. Just S. of the tip of Ill. popping quite a few lately. That area will need to watch the animations for awhile to see any trends.

Note the right side from Chile up to Alaska on the world animation. Two in Chile today so far today.

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsanim/world/

Then, note the USA animation,

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsanim/

Notice how they are starting to work up the fault line off the coast.

Full moon and high tides not until the 23rd yet.

No sooner do I type the above post, and a 2.7 hits off the coast of Oregon. While not big, it is the location,

Note the red box.

I forgot to add they had one off the coast in Oregon at 4.4 earlier today.

3.4 in Alaska. Not big but, it is the location. Working around the ring of fire and towards Canada.

The World animation, posted prio,r shows it popping up. At first I thought it was off coast Canada but it is still Alaska.

Baja Ca. was getting swarms of smaller ones today.

Sarge

5.1 just OFFSHORE OAXACA, MEXICO

Keep your eyes on that ring of fire West coast. EQ's coming from the N. and S.

Tremor's building up just N. of Chinese Rapids in N. Ca and some across the border by Medford.

N. SF same.

I forgot to add that today is likely a very high risk day for a large EQ due to 5 planets being lined straight up today.

Throw in the up coming full moon on the 23rd along with high tides and all might want to stay alert.

The Imperial Valley animation is not looking good at all. A swarm around the Salton Sea and now some popping up by Palm Springs etc. let alone around Baja CA and North on the fault.

Stay safe all.

80 whales beached themselves in NZ. One in SF. Might be a sign for coming quakes. Some were talking about EQ clouds in CA. last night.

NAU drum showing the P waves from the quakes this am. 5.9 coast of central Peru then a 4.7 in Baja CA. region followed by a couple 3.plus after shocks.

Full Harvest Moon tonight along with high tides. Jupiter is as close as it is going to get until 2022. Close to the moon tonight. Enjoy, but keep alert.

This is interesting theory. I am not so sure I totally agree with this totally but there is changes in pressure dur to planetary movements. The phrase that I bolded in the quote above I think has be improperly translated. rather than say:]planetary constellations I think it would be more precise to say that the planets transit thru these constilations

This past weekend portions of Croatia and Slovenia experienced extensive rain and flooding. Many towns and villages were flooded, including parts of the capital city, Ljubljana. Four people were reported dead from the floods with various villages cut from the world due to landslides caused by water. Detachments of the national army had to be called in to help in some cases. In some parts the water has not receded yet and the economic damage is counted in the tens of millions.

However after the floods a different phenomenon occured: on tuesday night, residents of two villages near the river ISKA reported hearing rumbling and cracking noises and the next morning the riverbed was reported completely dry, with a deep chasm into which the river disappeared.

I think it is a combination of planet and solar influences. Just my opinion.

I saw the river disappearing article. Interesting on the sounds. Many people on different boards are talking about hearing cracking and popping sounds. Noises can happen prior to an EQ.

I notice SD is having a two day EQ drill today and tomorrow.

Tonight could still be high risk due to the full moon, high tides etc. I keep watching the animation of CA/ NV. I hope those in CA are watching and paying attention.

Cloverdale to the N.of SF. and Baja CA. to the S. keep swarming.

I for one am hoping that the W. coast is paying attention. It could be Oregon or N. that has the first big quake.

In some places there is all ready 3 feet of creep. It makes one wonder how more pipes are not breaking and causing problems.

I hate to see the grapes creeping on the left. That is creepy, and I don't like our Cabernet grapes disturbed while the grapes are growing.

Looks like a heat wave this weekend and a colder than normal winter in CA. Don't freeze the grapes.

Back in AZ the same old. No rain, no weather, so we will get out of town for a week next month.

Glad you are safe. NZ is expected to get some more based on current coronal holes.

As far as CA goes, I am now seeing the Salton Sea and N. starting to get more EQ's. That would be the San Andreas Fault. I am now leaning, that it might be a toss up on which of the three faults lets one rip first.

What City and State do you live in?

I am not sure if one can tell you about upcoming EQ's but, depending on your location, there is likely information if you are in a high prone EQ zone.

Some areas are at much higher risk than others. I will check to see what I can find once I know at least the general area where you reside. ie, some Cities in CA much higher EQ potential than others depending on faults in the area.

I sure don't know if that is correct but, I am paying attention. When one throws on the USA animated map and the World ring of fire the West coast has been given light on the quakes. The question is how much longer?

Hi all,

Yellowstone is always a factor. It is just when.

Earthquake Wisperer? I will be screaming if I see things going S. on the maps. I don't want to scream unless I really feel it is right from what I am seeing.

I see Arkansas got two more including a 3.5 since my post. I got tied up on KP duty, slice and dice, since that post.

I picked up on this on another board for those around AR, TN, IL etc. Some might want to become educated what could happen if they get a big one. Look at page 7 also for the potential damage zone.

It was pretty quite EQ wise for my growing up years and sure has been changing. I grew up in ILL.

CA/NV need to keep a close eye on this map and the fault lines where the quakes are happening. Just my opinion.

I debated posting this article in OT rather than here, but I thought some of you might find it "interesting". ;) Cryptomundo is generally entertaining at the very least. Remember the incident in West Virginia during the "Mothman" sightings that allegedly was tied to the collapse of the Silver Bridge in 1967. The appearance of "Mothman" in an area is allegedly tied to impending doom which in this particular case means earthquake according to the author.
