I'm loving the latest BS in SC.

Who Is Alvin Greene?

An unemployed 32-year-old black Army veteran with no campaign funds, no signs, and no website shocked South Carolina on Tuesday night by winning the Democratic Senate primary to oppose Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC). Alvin Greene, who currently lives in his family's home, defeated Vic Rawl, a former judge and state legislator who had a $186,000 campaign warchest and had already planned his next fundraising event. Despite the odds, Greene, who has been unemployed for the past nine months, said that he wasn't surprised by his victory. "I wasn’t surprised, but not really. I mean, just a little, but not much. I knew I was on top of my campaign, and just stayed on top of everything, I just—I wasn't surprised that much, just a little. I knew that I worked hard and did," Greene said in an interview.

A 13-year military veteran, he says he had originally gotten the idea in 2008 when he was serving in Korea. "I just saw the country was in bad shape two years ago…the country was declining," he says. "I wanted to make sure we continue to go up on the right track." But when asked whether there was a specific person or circumstance that precipitated his decision to jump into politics, Greene simply replied: "nothing in particular...it's just, uh, nothing in particular." South Carolina Democratic Party Chairwoman Carol Fowler speculated that Greene won because his name appeared first on the ballot, and voters unfamiliar with both candidates chose alphabetically.

I'll vote for him. Let him get the free health care for life and the pension plan, he might even end up better most career politicians.

btw, the dem party is also trying to get him disqualified so they can get their golden boy back on the ballot.

How did this happen??? I mean for a senate seat... did the DNC think that Demint has a stranglehold on SC?

Green was the lesser of the two evils on the Dem side of the ticket.
The unknown beat the known bad.
This dude files his paperwork and does nothing else and takes the nomination, I love it!

According to ABC News he doesn't even own a computer, which is probably why he got caught porn surfing at the USC Campus library.

It's like 'Radio' running for senate. He's still got my vote.

and go to her room without her consent

Uhhh, how on earth could he possibly do that? Isn't that the beauty of having thousands of dorm rooms with different numbers on them? Anonymity?

What, was she like "I'm in the Jeckyll Dorms, North Wing, room 207.. but don't come here!!"

and he was all like "Ahh come on, please?"

and she's all like "No!"

and he was all like "I'm coming over anyway!!"

Is that what they meant

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

oh man. ohhhh man. this is too good.
At the same time, I feel sorry for him. He's getting a spotlight on him and he's not used to it and, I dono :X. Reminds me of how Susan Boyle cracked a bit after being a cat lady to super star and got all this attention (though I think she adjusted in the end :X).

Even though Orly Taitz lost in California, there will probably be more chuckles from this guy. Check out his interviews, he can't even seem to explain why he filed.

No, I read somewhere why he said he filed.. Something about him coming back from the Army and not liking what the country had become? Sure, it could just be a made up response, but whatever.. I love how this guy just snatched the Nomination from the establishment candidate!

Not to bring up race or anything, but I'd be curious to know if his opponent was white? SC has a very large black population and most of them are democrats. And if you go by the last presidential primary Barack Obama 55.4%, Hillary Clinton 26.5%. I'd venture to say that black voter turnout could have had a huge impact on this race. Well ok, I couldn't resist I went and looked the guy up and of course he was white. I have no problem with how this vote went, but I always found it funny that in places like this where Obama killed Hillary capturing over 90% of the black vote that was ok, but in "white appalachia" where Hillary only won the white vote by margins like 65 to 35, the liberal media spun it as "racist appalachia and didn't represet the rest of the country... Just sayin.

Wow, now that I think about it and dug a little deeper, look at the margins in this particular senate race compared to the presidential primary.

This race was 59% to 41%, while Obama vs. Hillary was 55% to 26% and now if you add in John Edwards 17% to Hillary's 26% you get 43%. So in essence it would have been 55% for Obama to Hillary's 43%. Compared to the senate race of 59% to 41% Interesting :-)

Wait a minute, Jim DeMint is probably one of the best Senators we have right now !
