What is the point? To shift focus away from BP's incompetence?

What is the point? To shift focus away from BP's incompetence?

No. To prove that the Coast Guard could have been immediately ordered to build the berms and take more active measures. But instead they waited a few days and wondered whether or not to burn the slick. Moreover, Barack Obama is the Commander in Chief of the Coast Guard.

The berms don't do much of anything. They just make people feel good. There is nothing that really can be done short of stopping the leak. So far that has been BP's job. It won't stop until those those relief wells are done. Provided they are successful and on target.

BOzo is incompetent.

Utterly.

He and the left hate the South. Look at the hack Olberman's comment tonight - the people of Kentucky are, according to him, backwards.

How did Louisiana vote in the presidential election?

What the fuck does the president have to do with this? Even Ron Paul said it's not the president's job. Last time I checked Obama is not a petroleum engineer.

Maybe that he lied through his teeth about not knowing? Perhaps they could have sealed the thing off with a MOAB.

One of BOzo's primary JOBS as President is to protect the coast.

He has not done so.

He is completely incompetent or intentionally avoiding his responsibility.

Take your pick. Either way, BOzo is unfit to be prez.

Oh, and it's BP's job to stop the leak and pay the cost of the cleanup.

You have to be pulling my leg. A MOAB 5000 feet down on the floor of the ocean? Yeah that has been tried a million times. If Obama tried that he would get blamed for its failure. No one is politically stupid enough to try that. Damned if you do damned if you don't. This is nothing more than political grandstanding pushed by the neoconservatives to shift focus away from BP and the question of ever removing their liability cap. You are being used for their gain.

LOL Of course they should have to pay for the cleanup, but that still doesn't erase the fact that Precious Obama Messiah and his administration sat on their asses and did nothing for days, as the slick grew to the size of Puerto Rico.

Russia has had success with sealing such leaks off with bombs.

At 5000 feet water plus another 18000 feet of rock? This makes no sense and is not bound to reality. If they can get a new rig to drill down that far it makes more sense to use it to take pressure off the existing well than to try something never done before on this scale.

If you want to make Obama look bad while at the same time advancing your goals you would be better off focusing on the liability cap. Maybe start an on-line petition to congress and the president demanding the removal of BP's liability cap. If it builds enough steam and the president rejects it you proved your point. If it still goes no where you still win because more people are learning about the liability cap. It's a win win situation. Wouldn't that make more sense than sending a bunch of people to digg an article that will never make the front page?

You haven't paid attention to Digg recently...and probably for a good reason. But anti-obama articles, including ones about his non-stop lavish parties have been hitting the front page.

Anything that makes the President look awful doesn't help BP. If anything it makes people wonder why he threatens to "kick ass" but can't say anything of substance.

The CG doesn't have the capability to deal with something like this, nor is it our responsibility. We don't even have the capability to dredge for dead bodies at 50 feet, how the hell you think we are going to deal with this?

This isn't Obama's job either. It is solely BP's. BP is(or should be) responsible for the damages they have incurred, no one else.

The main idea of this whole thing though is that Obama lied about not knowing the full extent.
