bumping this, I voted for him. He is a former Marine vet that is for the Constitution. He is better than the other two candidates by far.

This isn't a tough liberal district anymore. It is turning more and more conservative, especially in the south.

The 3rd is a swing district. It went for Bush twice and then for Obama. It also voted for Rossi both times for governor.

Edit: It is one of the 16 most likely to change hands from the Democrats, which means it is almost certain to go to the Republican

And before people go asking about foreign policy....I looked at his website. It was difficult and took much time, but I did it.

Pro-military. Wars should be declared. When we are done we should leave. Nothing too specific which is smart in a Republican Primary. He may not be a complete non-interventionist, but he is not a war-monger.

Talks about the FED also.

I like him. And he is polling well.

Sincerely,

this district will lean republican in the general.

They gave Obama less (52%) than his national average (53%) vs. McCain.

The district PVI is even.

It should swing Republican with a decent general campaign, because there is no imcumbent.

Do we have any indication of how well Hedrick is polling? Does he have a decent shot to place top-two in the primary? This race could be a top priority in November if he can pull out a top-two finish on the 17th....

There are conflicting readings from where I am standing. The only scientific poll in the race (conducted at the beginning of last month) had Hedrick tied for second with another Republican, the establishment pick Herrera. However, going door-to-door I have not gotten as much support as I suspected. The top Democrat was far ahead of the two leading Republicans, but only because there are only two Democrats to three Republicans, and one of the Democrats (Crist) is pretty much an open socialist (she advocates single-payer health care openly).

Overall, however, I think Hedrick and Didier have a chance, especially since there is so much grassroots excitement for both of them while there is practically no excitement for other candidates, not to mention Rossi and Herrera are not using their monetary advantages very well. Both of their ads are pretty weak, and might actually be costing them votes since they can be quite annoying after a while.

wow, he goes so far as to support the abolition of the FED. Not just the politically popular audit
