Intrade has McCain's side. That's never a good sign.

He deserves to lose for being an unprincipled "maverick"(whatever this means). He is a political opportunist and nothing more. All of the sudden he is "Mr. Conservative" when he was raping the country for all these years.

he better lose. even though i don't think hayworth is still completely non-establishment, i would consider voting for him in the primary just to unseat mccain. he needs to go the way of specter.

What's the deal with the guy he is up against? Is he a Maverick as well?

Not exactly. He is a Neocon, but apparently he is a lot better on domestic spending issues, so I would chalk a Hayworth victory as being a modest improvement over McCain.

I am not promoting this article to be pro Hayworth. It is just to show Republicans that the McCain wishy-washy Specter model isn't going to fly.

Indeed, Hayworth is a pro-war establishment type, but less of a goon than McShame.

Who else is running against the two?

Do you think it's worth voting for Hayworth just to get rid of mccain?

Jim Deakin is the Tea Party candidate in the race, although Hayworth has a better chance of winning. Should we vote for Hayworth to send a message to the Republican Establishment or should we vote for Deakin to send a message to the Neoconservative Tea-Party infiltrators?

Doesn't much matter now. Our friend Beck just did his thing again.

but apparently he is a lot better on domestic spending issues.

My understanding is that Hayworth is if anything worse than McCain on domestic spending. The main difference is their immigration policy. Hayworth is more anti-immigration than McCain is. So for those who are coming from the persuasion where that's a major thing, then Hayworth is probably better. But on everything else, I just don't see it. Of course there is always the aspect of wanting to give the establishment GOP a black eye, which I definitely sympathize with.

Yes it's a very tough decision.

I'll probably just vote Deakin....enough of this voting for the lesser of two evils. If we want freedom candidates to get more popular, we have to vote for them every election no matter what.

But it will severely hurt if McCain wins again....... *sigh*

I really can't see Hayworth being worse than McCain.

McCain voted against Medicare part D and Hayworth voted for it. IMHO there's probably no vote where Hayworth was right and McCain wrong that was more important than that one.

I don't believe in voting. But if I did, I would say it's worth it. :) p.s. I don't know who else is running yet, as they haven't sent out the early ballots yet.
