Bump I am now including the original links for the benefit of those who don't want to pass through digg but still want to discuss the issue.

I'll bump this too. Don't know why it isn't getting more attention. Media propaganda is perhaps the most important issue for altering the way people think.

Here is a link to the actual draft:

http://www.ftc.gov/opp/workshops/news/jun15/docs/new-staff-discussion.pdf

Note in particular that they will have a round table discussion at the National Press Club on June 15th about it. It's likely that C-SPAN would cover something like this, especially as it would seem to penalize Washington Journal as well as Drudge. People might want to e-mail or call them and request that they do cover it.

also note that there is a comments site:

Rather, through this document, we seek to prompt discussion of whether to recommend policy changes to support the ongoing “reinvention” of journalism, and, if so, which specific proposals appear most useful, feasible, platform-neutral, resistant to bias, and unlikely to cause unintended consequences in addressing emerging gaps in news coverage. The list of proposals in this document is no doubt incomplete, and we welcome additional proposals, which can be submitted at: http://public.commentworks.com/ftc/newsmediaworkshop. Members of the public also may submit comments on proposals in this document at the same web address.

My big question is if this will ever affect RPF? With all of these proposals they might try to consider this forum as a campaign asset or unregulated news outlet.

FUCK YOU FTC....

Over our dead bodies.

Please Digg even if you got sick of Digg because such proposals could eventually have an adverse effect on sites like RPF. The submission is titled to show that digg could be affected to provide maximum diggability.

won't work; the drugereport.com can easily become drudgereport.com.cy

they have no need of a USA presence
