FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Kentucky businessman Terry Forcht is scheduled to host a private fundraiser for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul later this month.
Campaign chairman David Adams said the event at Forcht Bank in Lexington on June 29 will be Paul's first major fundraiser since he won the GOP nomination last month. Forcht, founder of the Forcht Group of Kentucky, had supported Secretary of State Trey Grayson in the primary race.
A spokesman for Forcht confirmed the fundraiser Friday afternoon.
Paul faces Democratic Attorney General Jack Conway in the general election to replace retiring Sen. Jim Bunning, 78, who opted not to seek re-election to a third term.
Forcht most recently made news when he and his wife paid $300,000 for a New York City firm to design and install murals in the Capitol rotunda.
