Here is a quick and easy thing that everyone can help with to get the word out about RP at an upcoming event. Vote for #10 Mimi at the bottom of this page:

My chihuahua Mimi is in the running for grand marshal of an animal rescue walk in North Carolina, and if she wins, I'm going to outfit her in a "Ron Paul for President" dog t-shirt (seen here: http://www.cafepress.com/stickem2.102748502 or here: http://www.cafepress.com/runpaulrun.148199984 ) and my boyfriend and I will also be decked out in our Ron Paul gear (maybe even signs) as the grand marshals of this pet parade on November 3. There will be a large crowd and it will have local newspaper and television coverage. It will be a good opportunity to promote both animal welfare AND the freedom message.

Multiple votes from the same computer don't count, so if someone else wants to vote who shares a computer with you, have them vote from a different computer.

In case you're curious, here is the essay I wrote on why my dog is deserving to serve as grand marshal. It is just icing on the cake that as Grand Marshal she would get the word out on Dr. Paul.

Mimi is the perfect Pet Idol. She is an excellent example of a dog
adopted from a shelter who has brought so much love into the world and
into people's hearts. She is sweet, good-natured and resilient.
Mimi is a Chihuahua, blind in one eye from a large dog attacking her,
but no one can tell unless they see her eye up close, because she gets
around perfectly-- even though she has to work twice as hard as a dog
with full sight to do so. Mimi is 10 years old and only 8 pounds, but
as a pet-sitter once said, "Mimi doesn't know she's half-blind,
doesn't know her age, and doesn't realize her own size." Even though
she was attacked by a big dog, she wants to play with every dog she
sees. Many visitors who are "cat people" or who say they don't like
dogs are converted by Mimi, and they say they want a little dog just
like her.

She once lived in one small room alongside 10 other barking
Chihuahuas, and she made the best of it, even though she much prefers
peace and quiet. She runs up to any person she sees, not to jump on
them or bark at them, but so that they will pet her—because she knows
that they will. No one can resist petting Mimi when they see this
sweet little dog coming down the sidewalk. Everyone watching the
parade would have the same feeling when they see beautiful Mimi.

Thanks everyone! I'd be interested in hearing other people's ideas about using their dogs to get the word out (do dog T-shirts spark any conversation on walks or anything?) as well.

No, Ron Paul is definitely a cat's choice for a candidate.

Of course, it's entirely possible that Ron Paul may be able to bring the dog vote over to his side.

We have two cats, both of which are ardent Ron Paul Fanatics. Its the only thing they can discuss with my dog Parker. Thss thss!

And

Mimi's a shoe-in!! But I think "Parker" would give her a run for the money... on who loves Ron Paul more.

If anyone spots a banner in NEPA with paw prints on it, you know who to blame! (He doesn't photograph very well. Perpetual lazer eye!)
