View Full Version : California State Sovereignty Pledge

The sovereignty of individual States was and is the cornerstone of our Republic.

The 10th Amendment to the United States Constitution states that “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people”; and the Commerce Clause has been abused to permit the Federal Government to intrude into areas where it has no authority.

WE DECLARE that the present Federal culture of fiscal irresponsibility is an anti-Constitutional assault on the values of Americans generally, and of Californians specifically. We hereby proclaim that it is the purpose of a movement for state Sovereignty to restore the proper understanding of the separation of powers established by the United States Constitution, using all peaceful legal and political means necessary to achieve that goal.

In furtherance of this purpose, we call on:

• Our elected officials, at all levels of government, to support only legislation which adheres to an original understanding of the United States Constitution.
• The Supreme Court to aggressively enforce a rollback of anti-constitutional Federal Power, starting with an invalidation of the so-called “individual mandate” in the recent Health Care “Reform” Bill.
• Every friend of liberty to reject violence and condemn those who commit violent acts.
• Every American who opposes legalized robbery via subsidy to work for the passage of a Balanced Budget Amendment to the United States Constitution, and for an end to the Federal Culture of Tax and Spend.
• Every Californian who understands that his/her state cannot afford to prop up the rest of the country to join in electing a more responsible set of leaders to represent and govern the state of California.
