Jack Conway Against Secret Ballot – Is he also for a new bailout?
Published on 26 May 2010 by admin in Press Releases
0 Bowling Green, KY — Senate candidate Jack Conway has some questions to answer on the issues of worker freedom and taxpayer bailouts.

Dr. Rand Paul has taken a clear position alongside the 80% of Kentuckians who oppose forced unionism and support the Secret Ballot in union organizing elections. Jack Conway, on the other hand, supports the elimination of the Secret Ballot through the Reid/Obama backed Card Check bill. Under this legislation, workers would be denied a secret ballot, and both sides could have terms of their contracts imposed on them by the federal government if there is a contract impasse. This binding federal arbitration procedure, normally staffed by union allies, would virtually guarantee a lack of good faith in negotiations, and would deny workers the right to vote on their contracts.

Jack Conway supports elimination of the Secret Ballot and imposition of Card Check forced unionism, and this fact is reinforced by the overwhelming special interest union PAC money that is flowing into his campaign. Union officials not only back the end of secret ballot elections, they’ve also been the driving force behind the national healthcare scheme and Cap and Trade legislation, which would harm Kentucky Coal. It’s no surprise and no secret that Jack Conway has lined up in lock step with the Washington DC special interest and liberal agenda of the international union bosses and the Obama Administration.

There is another issue though that Jack Conway has not yet taken a position on. Recently, union boss paybacks and taxpayer funded bailouts collided to give us the auto industry bailout. Taxpayer bailouts, and indeed ownership, or private industry is bad for our economy and our budget. Now, Jack Conway’s Washington allies are set to up the ante.

Senator Bob Casey has now introduced a bailout of union pension funds, estimate by some sources to put the taxpayers on the hook for over $160 billion dollars. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/congress-pushing-165-billion-union-pension-bailout-94828874.html.

Where does Jack Conway stand on more bailouts for employers and union officials?
